Is Blizzard trolling us? 9.0 two handed axes were hilariously tiny, especially when compared to the other 2h weapons. 9.1 2h axes are even smaller. They literally look like throwing axes lol.
I know it’s a silly complaint but it just seems like such a weird and bad decision.
Hi Krad, I understand you have concerns relating to two-handed axe sizes. Can you please post specifics, e.g. which specific axes equipped on which specific races? Blizzard staff reads the forums, so being as specific as possible will help provide them an ample amount of information to act on with any appropriate actions.
Might be a reach here, but is it just the scaling on Zandalari? I can’t say the 2H axes have seemed small to me this expansion, and the 2H axe is one of the items I was oogling in the dressing room last night, and it didn’t appear small at all. Unless Void Elves are on the other end of the spectrum and have proportionally large weapons, and I just never noticed.
I mean, they also gave us numerous 2h swords that sheath on the hip, and 1h hammers to whom Artifact appearances can’t be applied, so it’s not like they have their pants on when it comes to weapons this expansion…
Looking at the SoD axe again in the dressing room now. I think it might be a slight visual trick due to where the hands are placed. The shaft is a little shorter than some other axes, but the hands are placed a bit high along it in my opinion, making it seem shorter/smaller. And the beard of the blade is actually pretty long, coming back very close to the hands.
Proportionally it doesn’t really look off to me, it’s just that placement makes it a little wonky. There are a couple other weapons that I’ve found with this issue, some more egregious than others.
I don’t think so lol. I’m looking at it right now on my orc and his hand is cover more that half of the handle. It’s definitely small, way too small for a 2h.
Like look at it from a side perspective. Equip the axe and then equip the 2h sword and polearm. The sword and polearm are huge in comparison. I mean compare to axes from BfA too. This thing is tiny
Checking it out in the Wowhead viewer now. Honestly just seems like a short shaft to me. The blade is proportionally sized, but I see what you mean about orc hands taking up a large portion of the shaft.
But comparing an axe to a sword or polearm by length is going to lean in the sword and polearm’s favor every time. Swords are by design reaching weapons, and polearms even more so with the intent to keep an enemy at a distance. Axes are not intended for either of these things, and are instead designed around power which tends to bring things closer to the body for control of the mass/power. Pretty much all axes in WoW reflect this fairly well, with some variation.
I haven’t noticed the axes yet but I have noticed the two handed sword on the hip witch I’m digging I’m hoping I can get my hands on the gold looking 2 handed hip sword, more variety is always welcomed.
When it comes to 2 handed weapon size a few smaller looking ones is cool but the majority especially 2 handed axes and 2 handed maces should be big and bulky
I cant remember the names but there is a copper one and a gold one, I can testify for the copper one because I got that on my human paladin last night. The gold one might be a glitch and be a one handed cause the picture in the transmog items seems small. I hope that one isn’t a glitch cause it fits lightbringer armor perfectly
Hmm weird. If you can find the name of it out that’d be cool. I know the raid only drops one 2h sword and it sheaths on your back. There are multiple one handers though that sheath on your hip.
