Hi ya’ll. I was just tempted to ask these questions in game but meh that’s what forums are for. So through the process of leveling my DK, I’ve wondered about 2 things that I’m still unsure about. (I’m Unholy and it’s PvE questions)
If I’m just engaging in single target, should I still be using my Outbreak ability? I know diseases are Unholy bread and butter, but I just got the feeling Outbreak is only for 2 or more, although I FEEL like my DPS is higher when I use it on a single mob
Almost always, when my mobs are close to dead (like 30% or less), I run out of festering wounds, is it sub-optimal to use Scourge Strike with no festering wounds to finish the enemy off? am I doing something wrong if I’m running out of festering wounds or is that normal?
Due to the Core talent Brittle and the Unholy talents Morbidity and Superstrain casting outbreak on a single target will increase all your damage (including pets) on that target by 12%.
It’s very normal to run out of festering wounds on solo leveling mobs and there is nothing wrong with finishing off a mob with just scourge strikes. Yes it will deal less damage than with wounds but there is a good chance you will kill the mob faster than you would spending the two runes on festering strike.
The way your post is worded it seems like you’re leveling and killing world mobs or in leveling dungeons where things die very quickly.
If this is the case, it could be worth it to skip wounds/diseases but it would also be building bad habits. And it would require knowing how much health the mobs have and how much damage your spells are doing to math out. For a bustier spec I’d suggest frost. It is much friendly while leveling imo.
