Unless the benefit outweighs the harm.
You can still trade loot if it’s an equal or lower item level to any similar gear in your bag.
I’ve traded several “upgrade” trinkets to guild members due to having the dark moon fair tinket.

So let’s say you implement guild only ML policies.
What happens when you loose a member and have to pug one dps? Does the loot type automatically change?
Let’s say one of the raid members leaves the guild mid fight… does the loot type automatically change instantly?
I will repeat… making ML guild groups only is a logistical nightmare.
do you hear yourself? this is the olympic levels of mental gymnastics you’re using my dude.
Ya, this is so funny to me. Because I only raided with Personal loot pugs and eventually personal loot guild at one point. But I am very pro Guild ML choice. Because I choose to do what I did, and everyone should be able to have that freedom.
Can we admit Personal Loot was not about helping casuals or pugs? It was about slowing down guilds from being able to maximize their dps and to better time gate raids?
Not at all.
What you propose is objectively worse than ML because it would add fundamental problems to a system.
I’ve played wow since vanilla. Still dabble in classic from time to time. Guild only ML is not logistically possible without it being exploitable. If you made it so it’s not exploitable… it would be no different than ML currently exists in classic today.
The you learn to make better decisions! You learn to choose a better guild. Looking at guild loot rules was and easy way for me to tell how mature and how good a guild was going to be. As in type and personality. My guild ended up going Personal Loot at the start of a tier and when it was on farm for a while then we would go ML to funnel gear to those who didn’t have it yet. We were far better at charity and helping the under geared than Blizzard allows us to be now. Almost always our Guild officers would pass on loot they wanted and gave it to those who did not have gear because it would help the guild over all in morale and in dps.
That was a good guild not made possible anymore by Blizzard.
i explained that good guilds did that earlier, passed loot, and that officers were often the worst geared in the guild because it was about killing bosses not ilevel. they don’t care. to them other players might as well be NPCs getting them their loot.
This amount of whining is rather funny.
You do realize you can still do that right?
If you have an equal or higher ilevel in your bags you can trade gear. (Even if it’s not for the same spec).
Every single guild that I’ve been apart of does that. ML being gone doesn’t prevent that.
Taking away Guild ML also took away a guild’s abilty to have substantial charity for those who had not. They had no right to take that away from good mature guilds.
if i have a staff and a dagger drops i can’t trade it because i don’t have a higher level dagger. also, you for a while at least couldn’t trade a trinket for prot if you switched specs as a holy pally. because it wasnt the highest trinket you had for that spec.
You can still give items away…
I’ve traded at least two mythic+ trinkets to guild mates even though they technically were upgraded.
Wont come back, way too many tickets and annoyiances.
They are.
lol
Player problem.
That’s because the dagger is one hand.
And is an upgrade.
No you can’t you just listed rules which I must meet to give gear I don’t really need. What our officers did is give gear they NEEDED to those who didn’t have jack. Which means they didn’t meet the requirements for Blizzards new rules and they still gave under geared people gear.
So what now? Are you going to tell me how you shouldn’t be able to pass on gear to those less fortunet than yourself?
Suuuuuure, suuuure.
Bro everyone was in a guild, most of the time gm and officers would just suck stuff out of you. Thats was soo frequent and bad that blizzard had to intervene.
Primary stat is always more important than any other stat. At least in retail WoW.
So you don’t need upgrades is what you are saying… that applies to no one else. Sorry
it wasn’t like this in legion or bfa though and you couldn’t trade loot that was literally trash for you bu BiS for someone else because it was a 5 ilevel “upgrade.”
Primary stat has been favored heavily for several expansions now.
that’s lies. i got tf crit/versa rings that were trash compared to my WQ rings cuz they didn’t have haste, as demo. do you not sim yourself ever?
