Two Alliance races got dark ranger options, while one Horde did

I love them, trolls have always been my favorite wow race though.

They shouldn’t have been forced into a faction in the first place. Just like Forsaken.

Ehhh… I disagree.

That the Blood Elves were set-up to not be a part of the Alliance? Absolutely. But there was no set up for them to join the Horde, either. The real set-up WC3 gave us was a third faction, the Illidari. Would’ve been great to see that added in Burning Crusade. Blood Elves, Naga, Broken Draenei… not sure what the fourth race would’ve logically been, sadly. Maybe outright demons.

Well, the Horde created Alliance Dark Rangers. :man_shrugging:

Thank you.
I say that because that was the dominant thing I had heard all along too. I also agree that BE were a toss up after warcraft 3 as it wasn’t as simple as some make it out to be.

If I was to ever contest the reasoning behind any lore and race/faction choice it would have been why the Forsaken joined the Horde. Lore wise didn’t make sense to me at all. But that said I don’t give issue. Having them playable is awesome. And obviously they would not have been alliance.

Blood Elves being added to the Horde for game balance reasons is such common knowledge but for some reason a couple of people in this thread wanted to die on the hill of belves being perfect for the Horde or something. Hahaha!

Fel Orcs or Saytars?

Obviously the little Sporelings. Get it together Solarion.

This is not even Void Related.

This is High Elf related. It as more non Void stuff for the Void race. At this rate we will have so many themes that we will be a living abomination.
Though I rarely go against more customization. At least one can pretend to have the red eyes the Void can have.

Them being aesthetically and culturally different was refreshing to see. Where they blended a bit more was their drive for survival, and doing what it took to ensure that survival. It’s very interesting to see races who tend to be at odds in many other settings working together in another.

It started from necessity and grew from there.

I think its more that some players believe that WoW’s story has evolved over time in such a way that Blood Elves are no longer such a strange fit for the Horde, that there’s been growth and development in the race’s story to make them staunch supporters of the Horde (even though we had another segment of the population of Quel’Thalas get exiled and join the Alliance not a few years past).

I don’t think its fair to discount the views of those players. Blood Elves are a Horde race, and have been a part of the Horde longer than most of it’s playable races now. Lor’themar is in a position of power in the Horde council, and Quel’Thalas may be the most powerful member of the Horde after the recent wars have devastated the Orcs and Forsaken populations. Zandalari might contest that, but with Suramar as such close allies to Quel’Thalas, Lor’themar and Thalyssra really have a powerful influence in the Horde now.

The narrative could have been done better, in my opinion. In particular, Blood Elves get trotted out far too often when its time for the Horde and Alliance to work together, and Blood Elves rarely get any development with other Horde races such as Orcs or Trolls.

Zandalar is pretty weak right now, they lost basically their entire fleet.

It’s not really about you, it’s more about the whole thing in general. So far the void elves only take from void elves, there is no asset sharing going to blood elves such as the dark hair colors, or cool hairstyles void elves have. Void elf males actually have facial hair for example, vs blood elf males, have mostly long haired hairstyles. Void elves also have a bunch of cool curly/wavy hair options that could be utilized for blood elves, since now void elves got like 21-24 skin tones. Vs blood elves having the 12-14 ish I believe. Least they can do is give blood elves something out of it.

I would agree to that. Give BE’s Void Elf hair and beards.

Talanji is solidifying her rule, a new Loa of Kings will be showing up eventually (Vol’jin), and Zandalar is still three zones worth of resources (something the Horde has always desperately lacked). They can rebuild their fleet and train their soldiers again, especially now that their lands are secured by the Horde.

Quel’Thalas and Suramar aren’t exactly in dire straights, but Suramar commands a single zone of resources, as does Quel’Thalas since the Ghostlands remain blighted and dead.

Zandalar truly does have the potential to become the backbone of the Horde, assuming Talanji focuses on expanding her influence by using her resources wisely.

Blood Elves were given some of the Void Elf facial hairs.

But if ya’ll want some of their hair styles, take them, I honestly don’t care.

This is such an exhaustive argument point and the only time I hear it is when HE fans try to spin the narrative that BEs are some weird invasive group of Elves that stole Quel’thalas despite BEs being the majority population of High Elves.

Also from Alliance HE fans who push darker themes on BEs bcz their narrative reinforcing their main theme as the playable High Elf race w the restoration of the Sunwell etc also bothers them.

I’m unsure if you’re doing either, but typically thats what’s happening when a HE fan brings up this “they were supposed to be Illidari” argument bcz somehow in this fantasy of events they have BEs consigned to Outland and they somehow claim Quel’thalas.

It’s gonna be a while lorewise, they got absolutely thrashed in 8.1

I’ve gone on record before saying Quel’Thalas belongs to the Blood Elves, Lannis. You and I both know there is only one Kingdom I want in association with the High Elves: Dalaran.

Heck, I’d have been happy with Half-Elves and Dalaran, if we want to go there. I’d be up for saying the bulk of High Elf NPCs in the Alliance are actually Half-Elves.

Lore wise, the High Elves of Dalaran outnumber the Blood Elves.

Fun little tidbit there
