I’m surprised that I haven’t seen or heard anything from or about the Twilight dragons this expansion. There are still some still left alive, right?
Also, is the Uncorrupted Voidwing canon? Or is it just flavor text for the mount? A non corrupted twilight dragon is almost as cool as the first non corrupted black dragon. Wouldn’t Alexstrasza give it the same treatment that she gave Wrathion? Wouldn’t it relate to the Dracthir story-wise in being a created and used by Deathwing?
I would be really happy just to come accross it as an NPC in Dragonflight. It also has a lot of story potential if the story devs want to use it.

I’d say there are probably two things going on with this.
First, IIRC, we saw a Twilight Dragon in Legion. But with everything that went on at Blizzard HQ, I’m not sure if they want to touch how the twilight dragons were made, or Sintharia in general and everything that happened to her. It was… brutal to say the least. Same thing with Alexstraza, even with Dragonmaw they skirt around the line of saying exactly what they did, merely talking about the blood on their hands.
As for the Netherwing… I have literally no idea and I would like to see them again.
I would like to see both groups. I think all together Deathwing made almost as many Dragonflights and types as the original five lol. But both flights have kind of been lore black holes, we have no major characters who talk about them and nothing from either of them either.

I’m just hoping that the Twilight and Netherwing dragonflights are reintroduced as part of future campaign quests.

Flights are things created by the Titans through the latter’s creation of Aspects.
Twilight Dragons are just pawns of the Old Gods. by definition, there can not be a Twilight Aspect.

There is that old comic called Old Wolf with Anduin as an old man and you can see a bunch of different dragonflights off to fight presumably the void.
I, like many others, do hope the other dragonflights show up in a later patch.

Honestly surprised the Twlight at least have not cropped up in the black flight stuff, given they use black dragon naming schemes and were effectively designed by neltharion to replace his own flight after it was mostly obliterated.
The canonicity of that comic is pretty circumspect now that the Void isn’t the One True Enemy, and is merely one of the extraplanar cosmic forces, but yeah I hope we see them also.

Aren’t the Void Lords still canonically locked in their realm and can only manifest minute fragments of themselves? You’re probably right, but the Void could still be the One true Enemy if the old lore concerning the Void Lords is still true.
oh yes, it seems to be true still. But in general all the cosmic forces are now shown to be their own unique brand of unhealthy for us mere mortals in excess amounts, even those like the Light that were previously given a pass on overarching negative side effects.
If it is still canon it seems likely it will be Anduin fighting the Big Bad that Zovaal was scared of.

Long as we get ALL the dragons involved, than cool by me.

I thought it was Sinestra that was the architect.
Deathwing had been there the entire time hiding further underground, effectively indirectly mind controlling Sinestra through her dreams to make what he wanted; even the name Twilight was from Deathwing, who got it from N’zoth. After she died he went on to finish the work he had been having her unwittingly do for him to make a final stable twilight flight.
I beleive that is only noted in Night of the Dragon. Gotta love that in books only lore.
Actually the name Twilight was invented by the Protagonists whom both Deathwing and the Old Gods agreed was a good name.
Sinestra’s Dragonflight wasn’t given a name by Sinestra at all.
Regardless her Dragonflight was the result of Deathwing secretly influencing her without her awareness and had it’s results co-opted for Deathwing to personally finish to create the Twilight Dragonflight drawing from the name the Protagonists gave to Sinestra’s Dragon Creations
Deathwing’s Twilight Dragonflight was a perfect version of Sinestra’s crude creation she made under Deathwing’s secret influence.
Nefarian’s Chromatic Dragonflight is a failed imitation of Deathwing’s Evokers which failed because Nefarian refused to study how Deathwing created the Evokers because he thought that Deathwing discarded the Evokers because they were a failed experiment when infact Deathwing discarded them because he lacked a means to control them.
Nefarian failed because he failed to understand the heart of the problem with the Evokers and scrapped the entire method entirely(to counter failure you must understand the why and how the failure happened not scrap the whole plan completely like Nefarian did). Sinestra failed because she didn’t anticipate that her Dragons would continue to consume Magic until they exploded.
Deathwing knew how to properly create new Dragonflights unlike his family.

I feel Deathwings involvement in night of the Dragon, which was revealed at the end is no longer canon. As Cata states he was hiding in Deepholm recovering from his wounds he sustained from the end of Day of the Dragon. So my guess is Blizzard either cut out the middle man (deathwing) and just had N’zoth be the one influencing Sintharia or Deathwing was doing it from Deepholm and not Grim Batol.
Although that does the raise the question. Night of the Dragon happens pre-wrath and it happens after the Shadow wing comics (which happens after the questline in Netherstorm with Tyrigosa). So those drakes in OS had to come from somewhere. Sintharia was killed by Dargonax, whom killed himself in the possess. So who made those three twilight drakes provided Deathwing was in Deepholm the whole time…?
Wow this is really good points, I didn’t thought about it… Who of these Chromatic and Twilight Dragon flight survive this moment in history?
I know Chromatus did, well sort of… his imprison somewhere.
It be nice if the Dev teams gives Chromatus a more permeant role with us Dracthyr/Evoker in story, give him more depth or story, maybe even a new visage?!

Then again the possibility of him being turn into something that mirrors in the Dark Side of Aspects could be cool:
Green head can turn into Aspect of Nightmare
Bronze head Aspect of the Infinite
Black head Aspect of Nether
Blue head Aspect of Twilight
Red head Aspect of Decay

Since his body is indestructible the only way to defeat him/her/it would be to slip them but that would give it a chance to escape or worse start their own Dragonflight… oh it would definitely be an epic raid fight I hope…
So many way they could use this forgotten beast, in this expansion!
Sorry got carried away again… I like this Dragon so much first becuse of its trong ties to the new race and class and second he looks like Tiamat from D&D what’s not to love!
Anyway I was just wondering if any more survive that I might just maybe imagine to see in the future withing DF story if it doesn’t end with the Primalist threat.
Green, Black and Bronze’s counterparts seem accurate yet Blue is quite inaccurate as is Red.
The opposite of Red is Death and the opposite of Blue is Fel.
The only thing that was able to harm him was the combination of the 5 Dragonflights’ Magics so the Evokers are valuable. Throw in the powers of the Primal Incarnates and he can die permanently.

Oh yeah, your right… I keep forgetting Aspects are a Titan empowerment… by Order.
I only thought of Twilight because of their vampiric nature to arcane… and Decay as the element shown by Gnolls… who is part of the Spirit elemental nature Cycle… but these are Elemental forces and a Void corruption not really oppose to Aspectral powers themselves that come from Order.
Oooo even better! If a bit OP… lol

Ironically enough Ysera has become a proper opposite of Alexstrasza even as Ysera’s Daughter Merithra moves up to take Ysera’s place as an Aspect.
To defeat Chromatus we need not just the current Aspects but their Opposites as well.
To defeat Chromatus’s Arcane Order Magic we need the Nether Dragon Aspect’s Warp Chaos Magic combined with Kalecgos’s Arcane Order Magic.
To defeat Chromatus’s Earth Magic we need Storm Dragon Aspect’s Magic combined with the Black Aspect’s Earth Magic.
To defeat Chromatus’s Dream Nature Magic we need a Dragon of Nightmare Aspect’s Necromantic Nightmare Magic combined with Merithra’s Dream Nature Magic.
To defeat Chromatus’s Time Magic we need a Twilight Dragon Aspect’s Void combined with Nozdormu’s Time Magic.
To defeat Chromatus’s Life Magic we need Ysera’s Death Magic combined with Alexstrasza’s Life Magic.
Of course in order to get the Storm Dragon Aspect we may have to fight Odyn…
Ironically to defeat Iridikron the most Galakrond-like Primal Incarnate(likely to be empowered with Decay by the Gnolls after he eats the generic-looking Frost Incarnate) will have to be countered with Spirit Elemental Magic.

omg I reeeeallly hope the devs are going for this direction… As much as I love Chromatus and like for him to get developed as a important Character… This makes a incredible interesting story for DF or built up for a fight…
EDIT: Silly selfish wants and dreams, you can ignore this lol
AND a possibility for Evoker to access a third spec… or Darker spec to their Aspectral powers! Yes, yes, not happening but hey I can dream and it feels like the cherry on top to finish the expansion is a quest unlock to more specs, I’m also thinking of DH who has only 2 specs too!
Agh, BUT we have to think of the poor devs who would probably die if they try this… sigh, to dreaming we stay then. Stay safe DEVS!
