Twitch Battle net link

So I just realized that my Battle.net account was linked to twitch for some past rewards. I just unlinked it but was it affected at all by Twitch’s data breach today?

If people want to pay to look at me all day, they deserve to lose their money. I am not one you should stare at lol.

No idea but thanks for the heads up. I don’t use twitch much but I have 2 accounts and at least one of them is linked, so now I’ve changed the passwords on both accounts, both emails, and my BNET.

Unless all of these things were using the same password you didn’t really need to do that. The only thing possibly compromised out of those was your twitch password. Even if your battle.net is linked, the only information twitch has about your account is the battletag and general information already freely available to anyone from the API.

The more brutal thing is if Twitch emails were compromised. I’ve got an email that was part of the Facebook leak and it now gets bombarded with dozens and dozens of Bitcoin scams and phishing attempts every single day, making the account pretty much unusable.

And in many cases, if they have your Twitch email and password, they have your Amazon login details and, through that, access to your credit cards.

One of the accounts shared a password with emails and BNET.

If you’re asking if they’d have your battle.net password then the answer is no. Twitch wouldn’t have your password in any form, merely a token from Blizzard which shouldn’t have any implications.

If you’re a high profile person it’s possible attackers could link your twitch presence to your bnet presence and use that for doxxing you or further information gathering but I think that’s probably about the extent of the issue.
