Depends on your ilvl apparently and what class you are. Seems higher ilvl people do it faster.

The quest doesn’t need to be done in one sitting. You just gotta do a boss room in there 3x.
Now that can be done 1-18, or since you’ve already done 1-13, you can just do a 1-6 run and be done with it forever.
That is assuming you have a few hours to set aside where you are glued to your chair. I loath this content with a passion. Horrific visions was bad enough, and I was so glad when I no longer had to do those runs. Frankly speaking, this is worse.
Horrific visions had resources you needed to spend to get in
Torghast doesn’t, which makes it better automatically
Horrific visions also didn’t have an afk point like how every 3rd floor does
Shadowlands is an expansion just better skipped.
Even the 6 floors is pushing things a bit in the tedious aspect for me.

The bubble removes all debuffs and prevents mobs from being summoned. Either way, I suppose.
Since the full 18 floors can be done in an hour and 1-6 at most takes 30 minutes, I don’t know what “few hours” you’re talking about.
You don’t have to do TC at all. There is nothing in there for a toy, a pet and a mount. No Ash, no Anima, no anything.
I have no idea how this system works. If at this point I do one more run of the same layer, layer one, and only to floor six, will that complete the quest for the soul ash?
Also, I do the Maw every day and fully fill up my bar. I actually enjoy the Maw, but typically do a little at a time and come back later repeatedly. A maw mount would be very handy. Do I have to do all 18 floors in one shot to get it? And layer one only?
Youve killed two bosses, so yes.
It always took me longer than 30 minutes to do the 1-6 so I suspect you are talking about you personally with your current gear on your current class/spec and maybe not even solo.
You have to do all 18 floors of layer 8 for the mount.
Story quests
Yes. You get one item from each boss floor you beat (6/12/18).
You don’t need to do them in one run, you can do them in 3x 6 floor runs if you find that easier, or 1x 18 floor run, or like you’ve done, a 12 floor run then a 6 floor run.
You have to do all 18 floors on all 8 layers.
That is a slog and a half, even if you really like Torghast and play a strong class for it.

1 Story quest, that you can split into 3 runs up to Floor 6.
I solo this content on a well geared disc priest, and about two hours in I was on floor 13 of layer one. And, on an aside, I had no idea what I was getting into when I started. I thought it would be an easy layer one run of six floors, to be honest. Two hours later I was ready to smash my monitor with a chair and remove wow from my computer for good.
Ok, so you were talking about 30 max grouped up.
Which is still something that has to be done in TC. 
If you’re really struggling, grab a Brewmaster Monk.
Their powers are hilariously broken in Twisted Corridors. You can get a 0 cooldown touch of death and enough HP modifiers to stack your HP up to 1.8 mill with Fort Brew.
Or you can Vivify Spam and do literally 100k uncapped AoE DPS per target.

I learned about it after trying to do the full thing and getting stuck on 12th floor boss ,I gave it a try and it worked.
