Twisting Corridors as Demo

So I’m doing TC as Demo. On floor 6 I got Pact of Infernal Intimacy. As we all know, getting this pretty much guarantees that the rest of the run is going to be a cakewalk. Well, I learned that it only stacks up to 5 times. So after floor 11 my pet no longer got stronger. It’s fine though, right? I got a few Hellfire Pacts and a Thickness Pact or two, and 50 Secret Spices so by the time I got to floor 18 pet had about 960k health. Along with 69 soul remnants and a total of 75 powers (including a 40s Tyrant cooldown that summons 5 tyrants), and I easily flew through every floor all the way to 18. I should be good for the final boss right?

Well, I drew Grand Malleare. Somehow his earthquake attack one-shot my pet who has almost 1M health. After that, the fight is flatly impossible as a Warlock. Blizzard doesn’t seem to understand that not every class can interrupt or stun every 10-15s. I lost all 10 lives I had and failed.

This is broken. Fix this kind of sh!t, Blizzard. I wasted 2 hours of my time. I got every best anima power a warlock can get and I couldn’t do it, because the encounter is designed around classes that can interrupt constantly.

Pet health scales off your health. If you stack as much max health as possible, you can have a 3mil felguard by the end.

The most important part of beating TC is getting the power that makes hand of guldan cost health instead of shards. Without that power, you’ll never beat layer 8.

It’s also worth getting the power that makes health funnel stronger, and increased Shadowfury duration. Eventually you can have a 15 second stun.

my favorite part is getting in those portal things in mort’regar sections and have my demon dismissed so pact of infernal intimacy gets reset
really nice blizz, love it, incredibly well done

Just got that floor on layer 7 floor 12, I,m lucky I was in a group but I had to get carried for a few floor before I could do decent dmg again. This is really stupid design and should be a priority hotfix…

Yeah the buff should not reset. I was on floor 17 Layer 6 and my pet bugged out and de-spawned. The rest of the run was a write off and I ended up leaving because I just didn’t have the damage to complete it nor was my pet strong enough to tank anything.

Wouldn’t be so bad if runs didn’t hinge on a single anima power that has a chance to bug out.

i think they patched the hand of guldan anima power, at the first few weeks of the game i used to get around 70 imps by spamming hand of guldan, but now it’s capped to around 30-35 max! and i had 117% haste!

I feel you, my layer 8 floor 18 boss was Elder Longbranch, the tall creatures from Ardenweald, one tapped my Felguard and Myself, Don’t get me started on his self heal when he has a bajillion life, I had lives took 4 tries, personally I think how I killed him was luck… I literally summoned my Felguard like 20 times, thank god I had instant summons.

But I did get him down, I’ll give you a hint, when you see that potion that increases damage by 30% buy it and hold it for floor 18…

I know I’m late and you probably 1000% done it already, but some bosses are way easier then others.

Imps attack faster with haste so unless you have ~20+ imps out with tyrant + another 10-15 with your covenant power tyrant then you’ll have a hard time getting 70+ imps with 117% haste

I had it happen to me.
Health buff for pet. Hand cost health.

Somehow my pet died. Couldn’t finish it. Pet died to fast.

I feel ya. I was typing in general (as you do) and got one-shot by a Guard. Wasn’t paying attention. Lost the pact buff I’d built up and my Voidy went from 2.4M to 136k health. Had to abandon the run at the end of floor 17. I’ve learned my lesson.

Wildly inaccurate.

You are correct.

By the end of the run you will be spamming hand and be dead, wondering wtf just happened and their goes ur entire run.

Typical.
The only way Warlocks, the only dps class without a baseline interrupt, can get an interrupt in TC is by being lucky and wasting anima powers on something that is a bastardized version of something every other class already has.
sweet

Honestly the most necessary power isnt the ‘HoG costs 10% hp instead of shards’ or even infernal intimacy, its that dumb common bloodgorged leech. If you can get at least two of those, you’re in a much smoother position to finish the run. If you can stack it with at least one of the former two, it just gets easier. Once you have the leech, any extra player or pet HP you can get just makes it easier.

Hand of Guldan power is not needed. All I did was fish for demonic int to start run. grab demon health/damage powers, max life, and then at that point anything to buff tyrants = gg. Cleared layer 8 without any issues sub 200 ilvl (think at the time I was 193). I never once on any of the 8 layers grabbed the power for hand of guldan.

That had to have just happened. I got that power and enough of the healing ones to just hammer hands and ended up with around 50-55 earlier this week.

Experiment time!

You haven’t even beaten layer 2.

Perhaps it can be done without HoG, but it makes the run SIGNIFICANTLY easier, to the point where you don’t need to fish for scaling demon power to even start your run.

HoG is not necessary. Wouldn’t even say it makes the run easier. Intimacy and Health are the two most important powers you can find followed by more Tyrants. Health will buff your Felguards survivability and your Tyrant’s damage. The Tyrant is where the majority of my damage comes from. On my floor 18, layer 8 boss, my Tyrant did more than half of my damage.

It did most of my damage too, the damage was amplified by insane amounts the more imps I had out. HoG allows for more imps. I could still do damage without it sure, but I couldn’t pump 500k dps without that power.

I’m mostly saying it’s not a dead run if I don’t get the HoG anima power. Depending on the floor, I’d take Secret Spices (if early enough), an extra tyrant, or x3 endruance if given a choice. I pulled over 400k with it, and 319k without. But at that point the boss fight is so short it really doesn’t matter.
