Except that in real pvp you will eventually have to deal with equally geared opponents and it becomes skill not gear.
Twinks can’t handle that which is why twink queues died when they were separated

The problem with that is most people that twink do it in their off time. A vast majority of them are the ones that are professional pvp’rs. The guys and gals that can take on two-three in an arena at once. Anyone can get the gear to twink and still be horrible at PvP.
But that’s precisely the point
Twinks rely on gear to carry them.
You do realize in vanilla and burning crusade no one was xp locked right? That didn’t come out till wrath. And yeah, it has always been like that. I was a no life pvpr in vanilla. Not classic, the real deal. You’d get 2-5 twinks on both sides per match.
here’s a few from that vod

If you’d rather have no BG over a BG with twinks… then simply don’t queue up. That’s the same result as separating the players.
OK but then you gotta remove the xp from bgs and have fun with the participation then.
Right now you’re having your cake and eating it too.
The end result of separating the queues is BG’s with no twinks and twinks don’t get BG’s since they lied about wanting to fight other twinks.
This isn’t a theory discussion, it was proven when the queues were separated.
Could it be that they caused regular low lvl noobs to no longer queue for BGs?
I think battlegrounds giving xp is a good thing, I dont think its good for someone to be locked in one bracket forever, when you get xp from the battleground its just naturally pushing you towards the next bracket
If you never move on at some point your gear and professions have progressed further than anyone playing normally would have at the same level, you can still have your advantage from investing your time into whatever but at some point the power difference is just unfair
Without xp gain from battlegrounds there would be people that only run dungeons to level up so they can guarantee theyll have all of their bis items then they get mailed all of their consumables so theyre fully primed to bully some casuals
I get the point of pvp is to be competitive, youre supposed to do everything you can to win, but theres this toxic environment of players that have already beat the game and start power tripping on their twinks suffocating the scene to a point where nobody new is interested and thats undeniably overall bad for the game
Maybe if less people played on twinked out characters the end game content would be more alive, youre all so worried about the game staying competitive why not go get geared up and carry in the 80’s bracket, instead everyones just stomping the lower level battlegrounds with heirlooms, doesnt seem very competitive.
The fun is getting BiS from dungeons and turning your experience off to run BGs and take a break from leveling. To enjoy PvP. Learn your character better and see what it can really do. This is natural in an RPG PvP game.
If experience was removed from BGs then the PvP in them would be better and more competitive. People would gear up more to compete which is fun. It’s fun to do that in each bracket as you level to max level.
End game content is about Twinking to the extreme. Again when you are 80 level you Twink. If you Min/Max or upgrade gear you are Twinking. It’s the reason we play a gear progression game and love the power or new gear.
With that said, it’s fun to do this at various levels because of different abilities, skill sets, items and things that can be taken to a different extreme. That’s why some people make level 1 Twinks. It just makes WoW this incredible place of exploration and endless things to do. Which is why it should never be ruined by people who don’t understand what this game is about.
I’d love to go back to the old system. Where HK’s mattered. You get Rank 14 and you get BiS PvP gear. The best PvP gear should come from massive amounts of HK’s in BGs and WPvP not Arena. Then obviously no experience in BGs so we can just farm HK’s for PvP Ranks and PvP all day.
Which then makes zerging in AV pointless. You now need Hk’s or dont’ bother. Which is how it should be. I get annoyed when AV ends in 5 mins it should be an hour long of back and forth PvP and 100’s of HK’s. That is PvP.
The problem is in this thread that most people here aren’t PvP players. They just want easy experience or the reward from PvP without the PvP. They are the ones wanting to zerg a boss in their greens and skip the PvP. It’s sad.
So removing experience from BGs would only have positive effects for PvP.
They never ever did though?
Contribution points were never tied to HK’s, just honor gained. Prior to BGs this was mostly from HK’s but you did better solo grinding than doing mass scale pvp where you got more HK’s.
I’m not particularly a fan of arenas myself though, I’d much rather the unpredictable nature of BGs than arenas and it stale metas.
This was literally the case for xp-locked brackets in the original though, so why didn’t this particularly work out?
Hk’s didn’t directly matter in the old honor system. Ranking was purely a time played metric.
Could it be that they caused regular low lvl noobs to no longer queue for BGs?
Its quite the cycle really.
Well get gear. okay…go quest. And rng hates you.
Yesterday’s tour de level was was a 35 to 40 run on a paladin. the only drop I recall worth a damn was chief brigadier gauntlets. Most were not even hard calls to feed the enchanter.
They were instant disenchant items lol. Leather and cloth ret paladin is a pve dungeon thing. not…pvp lol.
That now 40 has gear from level 30 a bit too much for my liking. I only splurged on her plate upgrade at 40 since I saw good deals for some armour. Noting the stuff isn’t that good. It was better than level 30 mail and like 2 gold. I can pay say 8 gold for that at 2 gold a piece. 100+ gold per piece for like 4 pieces for good stuff? Hell no.
Now at 70 I do spring on gems. To turn on brutal bonuses. Helps pvp and speeds up pve when not in bg. Bring your friends mob, no one should die alone kind of thing. Thing there is brutal carries to 80 well enough. Its not wasted gold.
The amount of pure hatred in this post is unsurprising… thanks for caring Blizzard
Twinks have 100% ruined leveling in BGs. It is almost always totally 1 sided
What they need to do is fix all the longstanding exploits in Warsong that the most of diehard twinks know and constantly use. Not just all the various jumps, but several safespotting areas that no one else can access. There is one 39 twink and one 79 twink that do this every bg when they are losing so the game won’t end. I report them over and over but they are never banned.
THIS! This is what makes the matches crappy. All it would take is one staff member to log on and witness this and say “well crap. That really does suck when I’m the one getting screwed over by this”.
It would seem retail lost the lead pvp dev (read this happened a month ago iirc). If retail is pvp team leaderless, we can only guess how classic is going is on the list of things to care about pvp wise lol.
It’s a hilariously bad joke. 9 out of 10 games are filled with enemy twink premades, making the game last 5 minutes but you spend that time sitting on the starting rock in EotS.
Give the simple minded fools who can’t PvP on an even playing field their own bracket, then watch as a queue never pops as they don’t want to vs each other, they just want an easy stomping.
calm down bro
