Nope. We had separate queues and the twinks queue quit playing because they wanted to stomp, not queue against other twinks. They then kept posting that the queues were dead(but the non twink queues weren’t). Non twinks didn’t complain because everything was working as intended.
So as usual, the squeaky wheels got the grease and y’all rewrote history to say that the queues died.
Edit: I also recall xp gain was on for non twink queues and it was decent xp. This USED TO be a great way for people who love pvp to level up. This sort of thing increases the number of players who play wow and grows the PvP community.
But this whole thing was also trashed by the twink community. So thanks for that as well.
I am the perfect example of this to be honest lol. But it still doesn’t stop me from trying. I still love gearing up and watching my charcters grow in power.
Um… toxic people exist in every bracket, and in every situation. I have seen raids go south, dungeons groups get into arguments, etc. Just because someone choses to gear up and exp. off, does not make them toxic.
In fact, I have seen more fights at level 80 lately, than I ever see in the 70’s bracket.
Toxic knows no level.
Maybe if people weren’t toxic d-bags end game would be more alive.
How many threads do we see about “Can’t find a group, gearscore wasn’t high enough” type threads?
People are expected to gear for raids, and even dungeons apparently, so why are they not expected to gear for PvP?
OP: heavyweights shouldn’t be matched against featherweights in fighting matches.
You: I am the perfect example of why it’s fine. When I got stomped as a featherweight by a heavyweight, it didn’t demotivate ME at all. I worked hard, ate a lot, and worked my way up to heavyweights so I too could stomp featherweights. You see because of my one anecdote, there is no reason to believe that most/many people don’t bother participating in this activity due to unfair matches. They should want to waste countless hours gearing up to get themselves the same opportunity to have a huge advantage other players. Why should random players be able to hop into a match at any time and just enjoy themselves without spending hours of preparation. I worked hard, reward me with the suffering of others!
Doesn’t this apply to level 80 as well? People in full relentless can and will stomp the crap out of people wearing deadly lol. (or fresh 80’s with 0 PvP gear).
Hmm seems mighty unfair now doesn’t it?
I say people with full arena gear at level 80 need their own bracket!
I demand it because it’s not fair to everyone who doesn’t have the same gear!
So quit quing for them while you are questing and keep questing. You are only going to them to take a break. They actually want to play there. They dont want you there more than you dont want them. U r just filller to get the games to pop.
No, they already pretended that was true. Then they got their own separate queue. Then they complain. Nobody wanted to queue up and play against them. They absolutely want normal players to queue up against them. Otherwise they have to fight other twinks and they don’t want that.
Y’all just fight hard to stop normies from having their own queue to enjoy while leveling up. Your front is obvious.
Oh I see now. So stomping people at 80 is perfectly all right lol.
So what is a twink exactly? Someone who geared up to stomp lesser gear people?
Isn’t that why people gear at 80 for PvP, too?
It’s absolutely not acceptable at any level than 80. Got it!
That makes exactly no sense what so ever.
It is pretty humorous how you’ve convinced yourself that what you’re saying is some sort of valid point.
There is no expectation that a player in a level 20-29 bracket should be max level, nor should they have BIS gear.
You’re comparing a bracket like this to a bracket that only contains the maximum level. A bracket full of players with very high /played times. So the expectation here is that yes, you might run into players with the best possible gear. And you know what? THOSE players actually do queue up to find fair matches with equally geared and skilled players in the arena.
Those players aren’t like level 19/29 etc BG twinks . Don’t even try to pretend they’re anything like each other.
But do I think it’s fine, in a battleground, to have players of unequal skill and gear matched sun the level 80 brackets? No, of course not. If I joined my local recreational basketball league to just have some fun with other amateur players, I’d be pretty annoyed by the presence of a few NBA players on another team dunking on me.
Been on the receiving end of this plenty of times.
You take the L and move on.
Then there’s games when your team has the make-up, and you dish it out.
When looking to validate their hurt feelings.
I believe there’s people that consider anyone with much better gear than them a twink, or a team with a couple geared opponents a twink team.
The bad part is, it isn’t enough to stomp the undergeared players in the dirt (with a massive gear advantage)…oh no, let’s drag it out turtle and gy farm them, on top of that.
That’s the problem… player induced and why the rest of the players hate twinks…lol
By the time someone can farm the gear they need for that bracket, they will out level that bracket. Then they are still undergeared in the next bracket and low level to boot .
You are comparing apples to oranges and you know it.
This is one thing I can completely agree on. GY camping and prolonging the game using cheats and exploits is very uncool. I do not, and have not ever grave camped.
I’m a healer and if I see my team doing it, I back off and go jump around in circles.
I also hate anyone who uses exploits and cheats to hold flags forever, or exploit terrains.
I have personally reported anyone I see doing this.
Beyond that, if someone wants to gear up and sit in a certain bracket forever… I could care less. I just avoid that bracket, or take my butt beating and go on down the road. /shrugs
I leveled 70-80 strictly through BG’s now on 2 characters, and getting level 70 PvP gear was a cake walk.
Did I die a lot? Yeah, I did, but I still found a way to participate.
I watched flags, I sat towers, I called incomings, etc.
I see level 70 rogues stealthing around doing nothing.
Sap that healer, spin those flags.
You don’t have to be a twink to help win a BG lol.
And I have seen level 80’s grave lock teams. Saw it tonight in EoTS actually.
Horde got slaughtered at their own GY, but that was OK, because, level 80, right?!
In classic honor comes slow for the non-twink side that always loses and gets gy camped. Those people are just passing through to get to max level. They are not turning off xp to gear for the level. Apples to oranges, again.
I don’t think you’ve ever played any recreational sports. You run into plenty of guys who are closer to pro level ability than they are to the average “just havin’ fun” Joe.
