Twinks are Counterintuitive… But it Doesn’t Matter

TLDR: Vote kick Twinks if you’re unhappy, keep them if you’re happy. Group majority always will decide as Blizzard intends.

I see a lot of people discussing our invincible lvl 11 Timewalking Warrior twinks right now. I also see a lot of people discussing whether or not scaling should allow it due to the blasphemous nature of twinks, to be played by 1 instead of as a team. And, I get that. Classic Timewalking is supposed to be nostalgic and enjoyable, not a snooze fest and reminder of our broken scaling. I do get it.

Here’s the thing though… none of that really matters. Every time you queue, you have a choice to complete the dungeon in a way that satisfies the group, vote kick, or leave.

So these are your options:

  1. Create a forum post where no twink player will be swayed and the issue persists.
  2. Vote kick the twink and hope it passes. If the group doesn’t agree with you, majority rules and you’re cursed with a twink run.
  3. If it doesn’t pass, you have the free will to make the decision on if you want a 30 minute penalty or a 5 minute dungeon run.
    OR
  4. Become a twink yourself. Live long enough to become the villain.

These are our choices. This is how Blizzard views contentions in lfg content - to be handled via majority rules and vote kick. If you don’t like it, nobody is forcing you to do it. If you’re ever dissatisfied with the random grouping, people will encourage you to find your own manual group even for timewalking level difficulty.

You are going to find people that agree with you that want to fix the scaling. You’ll find people that disagree and are adamantly grateful for fast runs and want this to continue. You’ve got the twinks that are benefiting from this daily that won’t stop unless forced. THAT is why it is decided amongst each group. So, start deciding. Talk, discuss, initiate a vote kick and see where people stand.

But literally arguing over whether or not we should allow twinks is not ever going to be a decision on our end. It will be Blizzard and it will be a calculation for scaling, which will ultimately have a loop hole and the cycle continues. Until then, make your voice heard where it matters - in the dungeon.

Twinks will not be corrected in accordance with whatever arbitrary difficulty requirement people may be wanting in lfg. Issues just don’t end up getting corrected that way. If the majority of the players in that group really dislikes them, vote kick. Twinks will stop when they stop getting groups that will entertain them.

Just my thoughts - I don’t care either way if a twink is running the show. I heal so that people get shorter queues and just sell satchels on the AH if I get them. It never matters to me one bit, but I figured someone needs to just outline our choices as a community to decide for ourselves in a constructive way that can actually make a difference.

You can’t just demand that they use the options available to them… that would make them do some level of work and take some level of responsibility.

Blizzard will always stand by the idea that if the majority of a group is dissatisfied, vote kick.

If the majority is satisfied and you’re the only one dissatisfied, then the choice is up to you.

I’m just highlighting the reality that we are facing today, despite what anyone thinks Blizzard should be doing. These are the systems we currently have.

I understand what you are saying and I am in full agreeance, Blizzard gave people tools to fix their problems. The issue is the people who are screaming that 90% of the community is lazy and just wants to be carried through old content or that twinks ruined their entire life the one time they had to sit through a 4 minute dungeon run before being allowed back into queue for 10+ minutes are the laziest people in game.

They don’t want to actually put in work they want to get into a group so they can showcase their ultra low DPS and be carried by a full group of players rather than 1 player. They are sad because they are closer in DPS to the top dpser in a full group without a twink even though they are most likely dead last, than they are to the dps of a twink. Don’t ask them how TW impacts anything outside of cosmetics though, they don’t really have an answer outside of some nebulous “leveling” or some random jargon.

Blizzard has the power to stop this, but when they did what would be required in a similar context (TWW dungeon scaling adjustments), there was quite a lot of blowback and demands for rollbacks.

The point of providing feedback isn’t to change the minds of other players. It’s in the hopes that Blizzard changes design whether those other players like it or not. :+1:

I mean…yes. I don’t see how this is any different from the philosophy on the other side of the equation. Blizzard is giving some people the gameplay they want and those people don’t care what others think or want either.

Blizzard doesn’t need to stop it because it isn’t an issue. A very small amount of people and their alt hopping to make posts doesn’t make it an issue. If I want a specific brand of product and store doesn’t carry it doesn’t mean I go and yell at the store every day, I just go to a store that carries it. If you don’t like being carried by a twink, you can leave the group, form a group, or kick the twink. That is the choice Blizzard has given us.

I put them on ignore so I don’t pug into their groups again.

I mean, look at what happened in the thread the last time blizzard made changes based on basically this exact feedback:

That is a solution.

I mean…yes. I don’t see how this is any different from the philosophy on the other side of the equation.

That is because you don’t want to. The point is Blizzard gave you tools. You can use them or not. If you don’t why do you get to cry on the forums that Blizzard needs to change the way other people play to suit you?

Blizzard is giving some people the gameplay they want and those people don’t care what others think or want either.

Nope. Blizzard once again gave you tools. Use them or don’t. LFG is a free for all. If you aren’t interested in that, don’t use it.

Yeah I don’t consider anything Blizz does to be set in stone and people are perfectly within their rights to provide feedback on changes they want to see in the game.

It happens all the time. You’ll get used to it eventually.

If you don’t want to see that feedback you have tools to avoid it. Don’t click the thread.

That’s a totally fair response and an option I didn’t think of. I appreciate you sharing this. :dracthyr_nod:

I don’t understand these threads at all… is it just whining to whine?

Its time walking…half the dps specs can solo them if they are careful with pulls (at max level). Why are we larping that this matters?

If we made them so difficult you have to treat them like a mythic 10 their intended audience wouldn’t be able to run them.

There literally is zero problem here. Leave the group if you’re offended that another player in it is better than you.

In this thread, my attempt is to show people the choices they have in game, as opposed to just exclusively discussing in forums.

Like… getting Blizzard to take action on twink scaling has been unsuccessful for years. I hope people will start doing things in game to have the experience they want.

I’ve pretty much cleaned out the anniversary vendor and I’ve never been big on farming timewalking currency so I solved the problem by pushing TW off my plate.

It is without a doubt the worst form of dungeon play in the game and I’d have to say dumbing the majority of the game down like this contributes more than anything else to people whining about poor play in higher content.

It’s a self perpetuating cycle. Whine about poor play. Request the rest of the game be dumbed down and streamlined because you just want it over with fast. Then whine about poor play more.

Yeah but its not productive to try and explain to people the reason why their groups suck is because they suck.

Even on the forums people close ranks around the " casual" player

I’m not trying to dumb the game down, personally. I enjoy the mindlessness of TW and giving people heals for a quicker queue.

My goal here is just to give people a rundown of some current choices to handle this reoccurring issue I see on the forums. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

You’re good. Any use of “you” in there was meant to be general and not directed at you specifically.
