Hi guys,
Ive played wow for a long time now and love pvp. Ive usually played rated at maxed level but recently decided to make a twink without knowing about the changes to the bracket system. I understand some people don’t like the unfair advantage of stopped xp players but separating the brackets doesn’t make sense to me. aAll the items are available to both xp on and off players and I get that stoping ur levelling is an advantage as you know the bracket better. However, that is the reality of gaming people will be better than you and spend more time doing different things. Can we please bring back the merged bracket, this change single handily destroyed a community.
Feel free to disagree, but whats the point of having a feature like stopping xp if you cant queue in bgs. there’s no playability with the queue times.
A full on merge is too much to ask.
Hobbyists would benefit from a separate bracket from levelers too.
Think, Korrak’s Revenge (Original Anniversary version.)
Something along these lines would work so well with Chromie Time.
In order for this to work best we would need Specific Bracket PVP tuning/adjustments imo.
e.g., 50% less effectiveness vs other players in PVP settings in some cases.
Via specific Bracket (10-19,20-29,30-39,40-49 etc.) abilities/spells/stuff! which are outliers.
Having a viable queue option (for Experience off players/CT+) which does not interfere with levelers, (unless they choose to join) would definitely add some interesting content.
Higher stakes, Higher rewards may actually allow Twinks to play with others without static.
You understand it’s an unfair advantage, but it doesn’t make sense?
XP on players are just passing through as they level up to max level. It’s unreasonable to expect them to stop their xp gain so they can farm all the bis items for each level bracket in PvP.
Levelers don’t enjoy getting destroyed by twinks.
If queue times are too long, that just means twinks don’t really enjoy playing against other twinks.
Lol I wish I could share pics of this twink warrior I ran into all last night in 39 BGs. I was like how. How is this even possible. I still don’t get it. I have full heirlooms and off pieces on the BM hunter I’m leveling and I have enchants on everything. I usually close to double everyone’s damage in most BGs. I have about 5k hp buffed. The average is like 4-4.2k in that bracket. This guy was fury and had 7.9k hp lol. Average dps was around 40k. I ended up pulling 80, this guy does 115k and had 16 KBs and 50 hks, 0 deaths. All of his gear was purple with 2-3 gem slots each. I didn’t even know that was possible, his weapons had 2 gems each also. He had +4 str / + 6 stam gems in every single spot not even exaggerating at least 20 of those gems. His name was Pog-Tortheldrin
Please go and armory this aids of a toon. Never even heard of that server first of all, secondly how do you get that many gems? Is it some kinda timewalking raid thing?
looks like an old 70 they’re leveling maybe? was their xp “reduced”? my 99’s got squished to 39 but with only 1 xp left to level up. same with my 119’s. they turned 49 with 1 xp till ding. tricky tricky blizz jokes on you those will be my 59’s and its going to get ugly.
At 30 take a look in Old Dalaran sewers for PVP vendors.
PVP centric Secondary stats + sockets.
These Epics will allow the same impact, use some of those PVP Tokens ez.
Yeah exp. off needs to be re-merged. “Twinks” are still a thing, and the few that are still in Bg’s don’t mean a win. I have seen plenty of games lost because of bad team work. 1-2 twinks per BG doesn’t mean the BG is a guaranteed win if the opposite team has better strategy.
They had the ability to throttle healers per BG, so why not just throttle the amount of exp. off who could enter the Bg?
Personally would love to play my “twink” healers, who are hardly real twinks… considering all the gear/gems/enchants/ can all be obtained by anyone.
Sooooo… don’t PvP until the 50s where there aren’t any twinks? Or just causally PvP while leveling… not every game is gonna have a twink in it and not every game with a twink or twinks in it makes the game miserable.
Now tell me, where and in which expansion did the twink touch you?
Mixed queues ruins the experience for the majority of players - everyone hates playing with twinks, and there was a general relief when they were expelled from our games.
Separate queues should not inherently hurt the twink community - if the community is as vibrant as they claim, then they alone should be able to keep queues running for themselves, without levelers to feast on.
Sorry that you wasted your time, but low-level BGs are not a designated endgame, and expecting levelers to be decked out in TBC socketed gear to not get oneshot is incredibly unrealistic; you should be able to compete in quest gear just fine.
While on the subject of lowbie BG imbalances: heavily nerf sync’d 60s, please and thank you.
“Just hope you don’t have twinks in your game”, not a very compelling strategy; we currently have a working system where you rarely run into twinks (unless they do things they shouldn’t be doing), why revert that when it only benefits a tiny majority of players, a fanbase that is so unenjoyable to play with, that the second they were left alone their entire hobby imploded? You get unlucky and the other team is stacked = game is unfun, may as well afk out; you get the stacked team = game is totally unbalanced, everything dies before you touch it; neither side has twinks = things are exactly as they are. If your solution to a problem is one that at best merely keeps things as they are, and often makes them worse, then that’s a poor solution.
Because they’re forced to play with them, and there is an absurd power difference between them.
Similar problem to the previous poster, in that you admit allowing twinks is not what the average player wants, your only solution is to limit how bad the problem gets.
If you enjoy your twink healers, go to the xp-off forums and join the twink communities, get some wargames going and have fun. There is no reason twinks should be able to easily farm levelers or honor, if you just want to have fun then nothing is stopping you, or any other twink player.
just get used to it. its the same game at level 60. every toon in “average leveling gear” by definition is under geared for their level. you only get items based on your level and probably still have items from quests you finished 3 levels ago. boas are great from10-49 since they show you what ilevel all your slots should be. if youre relying on gear upgrades from bgs while you level im sorry to inform you that you’re doing it wrong.
But there’s still twinks in BG’s…the only thing that has changed much is most of them aren’t exp. off/exp debuffed. I don’t see the difference in an exp. off and an exp. locked by either the freebie 20 twink thing, or leveling twinks.
Since the twink topic came up again, I have been checking every person on my team, and I still see a few, and it does NOT guarantee a win. Bad teamwork is the number 1 contributing factor to which team loses, it’s not because the other team had the better gear in 90% of the game I have seen lost.
Plus, when you go into PvP, if you are just going in for the exp. you should expect to be out geared and out performed by people who actually go into PvP for… the… (wait for it)… PvP.
But twinks are still in the games, they are just not exp. off. and not everyone hates playing with twinks, I have been whispered MANY times and told “nice to see a geared healer!” and my gear is hardly “twink” gear.
Twinks are not these magical un-killable BG Gods that ruin everything. There are two in the 30’s bracket that I see die all the time, and we have lost many games even with our magical twinks because of the lack of teamwork.
We tried. There are simply not enough twinks per bracket to make wargames viable for more than a once in awhile occasion when we could actually get enough people to make one.
