Twink Brackets Summary

I’ve been reading a few posts here and there regarding twinks and, assuming everyone has gear, this honestly sounds like some badass pvp without the added time requirement of raiding at 60. I used to think twinking was unfair, but after a bit of reading I can’t argue that it’s any different from a geared 60 killing a fresh 60.

Nonetheless, I don’t remember ANYTHING from twinking… aside from a million rogues running around at level 19. What are some characteristics of each bracket? Are all classes somewhat viable in each bracket??

10-19: rogues and hunters?
20-29: not sure on this one, how is class variety?
30-39: most talents & hp, no mounts? most balanced bracket? most class variety?
40-49: only twink bracket with mounts, I’m not sure of the popularity due to getting up there in level…

I like the 39’s.
More talents, no mounts, and they can max out professions to use as CD mules.
I’m hoping to build a couple. :smiley_cat:

10: Hunters. No variety, no contest. BGs will literally be a military shooter with everyone trading shots and pets running all over the place. If you’re any other class, prepare to be riddled with bullets and fed to a hungry tiger.

29: Hunters, shamans, druids, rogues, paladins. These are mostly due to speed buffs, but rogues perform well here, as do paladins with command.

39: Druids, shamans, warriors rock this bracket. Druids get cheetah. Shamans get windfury. Warriors get their fury skills, not to mention the easily acquirable whirlwind 2h, which is among the best weapons at 39. The other classes still perform well.

49: No one cares about this bracket. Too hard to farm gear for, and players aren’t interested in fairness. They want advantages. If everyone has a mount, then their speed advantages are largely irrelevant. Low level BGs are all about speed. If you run faster than the enemy, then you can run flags unopposed or capture bases before the enemy can respond. Mounts level the field, negating your speed advantages.

I had a level 19 priest that was super hard to kill. I could stand in the middle of the field with the flag forever bro people on my own team would get pissed. Also had a 39 rogue with 5000 HKs. Real strong in that bracket.

19 bracket is dominated largely by rogues and hunters as solo heros. Paladins and Warriors are also quite viable solo classes in the bracket. However, in organized team play, Warlocks, Mages, Priests, etc all bring value to the table with their control. They aren’t the greatest solo, but don’t count them out when it comes to team play.

Engineering toys actually spice up that bracket too.

I had a 39 fire mage in BC. Not sure if it changed that much from vanilla but I blew some fools up on that class, and a 39 warlock on the opposing faction would regularly kill pretty much my whole team by herself.

p.s. I’ve heard that a 49 enhancement shaman with Kang the Decapitator was a force to be reckoned with; Just word of mouth though.

Well the 19 bracket doesn’t sound fun at all then…

Hopefully we get more responses on the difference between the 29 and 39 bracket… 29 has more variety in regards to viable classes??? But, a twink at 39 would open up max professions on that char as mentioned earlier.

That’s my favorite brackets too… There is a good amount of +spell damage blues and greens you can get.

I did the exact same thing,…

I twinked a 39 fire mage… he had all +fire damage gear.

and i would sit on top of the WSG entrance… and just queue pyroblast after pyroblast… one-shotting people on crits xD

Congrats you just described every single twink bracket and the lvl 60 bracket. Strange that you’d single out 40-49 for this. 40-49 is fun but it’s definitely hard to gear for if you don’t have lvl 60 friends or multiple accounts.

I twinked 49 hard in Wrath with all classes mainly having BiS before the community died in Cata due to all our gear being changed. Most fun bracket ever, more fair and more classes were viable. Of course this is only speaking about the bracket in Wrath. I did play some 49 bgs in Vanilla, had a Kang the decapitator on a Warrior and just wrecked face, good fun.

I believe it will be too annoying and hard to gear up for in Classic so there will be almost no 49 twinks. except for maybe the odd warrior that has an Executioner’s Cleaver and a couple other strong blues.

Shout outs to the old 49 community.

Were you Horde or Alliance?

I feel like everyone has forgotten disc twinks (in any bracket) and hemo rogue twinks in the 19 bracket with all the SFK/WC/DM/etc gear… Prot war twinks were also pretty fun too. It’s not like live, everyone isn’t running around in heirloom gear, so if you’re twinked, you’re going to walk all over the average player regardless of class or spec. I think the average 10-19 has like 300-500 life right? Twinks can get like 1200? I honestly can’t remember. If you’re dungeon grinding 13+, you’ll naturally be semi twinked, you’ll just miss the enchants and some of the more expensive BoEs etc.

None of these people have seriously played 19s if they believe it’s all rogues and hunters. 19s has always in every expansion been the most active bracket and will have plenty of 10v10 premades. I have played in every bracket from 19-49 in every expansion and I will have a twink in each one during classic but none of them compete with 19s in popularity or level of competition.

I was alliance, a gnome mage

Oh gawd.

Was actually this character… but i leveled him at some point… ruined him

m8 this is the classic forum. Rogues cannot get hemorrhage until level 30. It’s 21 points in sub.

I don’t recall shamans, locks, pallies, druids, or mages being especially strong in 10-19, but I feel like the rest can succeed quite easily. Maybe it’s because huntards were one of the few classes with a slow at that level and rogues could instagib non-twinks?

Twinks won’t affect me as I will play exactly zero BGs in Classic.

As an aside:
I fully intend to scoop up any and all twink items on the AH for the first month or so while they’re super cheap because nobody has any gold and then sell them down the line for 600+ gold, because I hate twinks and if you’re gonna twink, you’re gonna pay me a lot of gold for a level 19 dagger.
