Probably not ever though tbh. Their approach to mapping armor onto character frames has been a huge bottleneck in creating a diversity of player character models.
Unless they can improve the AI assisted mapping of armor to models to the point that it doesn’t need human intervention then it will never happen.
Considering how much clipping you see on the existing models, I don’t have very high hopes.

I want playable Furbolg in WOW The Last Titan.
I think we missed the kayak for that in dragonflight.
I want Saberon over all other races in the game at this point, but I wouldn’t object to Tuskarr. I’d make one, a hunter, tame a couple otters, level him to max then just take him around fishing in all the places. That’s it…
