Tuskarr tackle box needs its own icon

For those of you that have unlocked this “feature”, I hope you’ll agree with me: this has to be changed.

Because one of the not-so-secret things to do is chasing after Disturbed Dirt, Scouting Packs, and Magic Treasure chests.

The problem is not only that the tackle boxes share the same icon, but that there are HUNDREDS of them in any given area.

I mean in a space where you might find 1-2 Dirt, you will EASILY see 20+ tackle boxes. They literally CLUTTER the map!!!

And the issue is they only have like 1 fish in them. So if you want to collect all 20, then … I suppose 20 fish is worth the small effort?

But I want Primal Chaos and Resources from Dirt. Not fish. And I’m not sifting through 20+ of the same icon all smashed on top of each other to find the right item.

This REALLY needs to be changed.

Or just open everything. You don’t seem to realize how lucrative tackleboxes can be, and they really like to cluster spawn in certain areas. Yeah, 95% of them are meh, but when there’s so many, you hit that juicy 5% that contain swog coins, recipes in a bottle, or 700g of vendor trash (for some reason) a fair bit.

I guess if this was the ONLY time-sink in DF, I wouldn’t openly mock this suggestion.

But because I’m working on my professions and, you know… I didn’t cheat… it’s taking an inordinate amount of time.

Even to your point-- READ MY POST. The direct suggestion is that they just need their own icon.

So that if I want to JUST farm Dirt, I can. If I JUST want to farm Tackle boxes, I can. If they just had different icons, you could tell the difference.

But now… it’s just a SEA of little treasure chests.

This needs to change.

honestly this works but I would prefer just to turn them off from my mini map. there is just way too many of them.

They should just add in tracking options that you can toggle between them all. Don’t want to see the tackle boxes? Then you’d just be able to disable tackle box tracking. That’d be the ideal situation, IMO.

I hate these tuskaar boxes with a passion now. They need to tone down the amount that spawn by a lot ( a few areas I flew over had 10 of the damn things piled up). Or increase what you loot inside of them by A LOT at least to make it worth opening. 1 fish and 2 pieces of grey trash. No thanks.

I HATE these tackle boxes. Absolutely useless and make it nearly impossible to search for the dragonscale stuff. Can’t even turn them off or anything, I’m so mad about this.

I hate them as well. I can’t even seem to filter them out in rare scanner.

Trying to find my dirt/packs for weekly professions is so much worse since unlocking them. Wish there was a way to turn them off.

can you hit the renown level and just not pick up the quest to learn it?

No because it’s not a “quest” you “pick up.”

It simply unlocks at R27.

So the only way to not get it from R27 … is to not be R27. You’d have to stay at 26.

Hardly a solution.

Blizzard just needs to make a small change. This is one of those rare – VERY rare-- that this is a good thing, but it’s TOO MUCH of a good thing!

We’ve had an all-day-long maintenance and a few updates since yall posted this.
Still not fixed.

Well… not so much “fixed”, as “CHANGED.” And/or “changed for the better.”

HandyNotes has shown us the way!

There is an option to show Dirt locations, and it shows about 30% of them (roughly), but it doesn’t use the treasure chest icon the game does.

It’s a SHOVEL. What an idea! lol

This is what should be done, Blizz.

Dirt Piles should be shown with a Shovel-icon. Expedition Packs should be a treasure chest. And Tackleboxes should be THEIR OWN THING. Make a new icon.

Or at worst, there is an Engineering-specific bag that looks like a tool bag. Use that. Because it kinda looks like a Tacklebox, or what could pass for one.

ANYTHING except having all of these things be the same damn icon!

Would be nice but has not been a problem for me. I know where everything is and one addon, not sure which, keeps telling what appears on the map(ie dirt or tuskaar thing).
