Turning WoW into DnD

Sure, lets turn WoW in DnD. Let everyone be everyone, screw the established lore and just make up random stories as we go along.

Titans? Nah, let’s make our own little pantheon based off something obscure, like Lithuania’s gods. Or perhaps a little Indian influence? Maybe a different kind of afterlife, since everyone and their mothers despise SL more so than poverty. Let’s break canon and have our characters be Kings or the new gods of Azeroth, or be married to famous NPCS. The possibilities are endless!

Hell, let’s make up some races while we’re at it. A race of half-elementals. Or maybe Cloud Gnomes, who managed to settle on a CLOUD of all things. Or Better yet, Crossover Races! Let’s play as Protoss, or Infested, or Nephilim!

Let’s tear down the faction barriers, ignore all the atrocities we’ve done to each other. Let’s remove PvP altogether since its all just an unbalanced mess.

Pretty sure by the end of it all, everyone will be a different shade of Elf, all forms of culture will be nonexistent, and we’re all be wearing the same clothing.

I hoped this fandom would rise above the devs and writers and stay true to what Warcraft was originally, but no, let’s add more fuel to the fire.

TL:DR - This is a rant on how the fanbase is willing to cast aside the identity of this game for their own convenience.

Could have just written this in your hello kitty diary.

You seem salty about something. What change or feature brought it on?

1% of what you said is DnD the rest is your own rant. I’ve play DnD since the 80s and it’s a thousand times richer in lore and story than wow . Have no idea what kind of dnd you played.

Probably a YouTube video.

I’d actually support opening up wow class/race combos to something similar with DnD in that everyone can be everything if racial bonuses actually mattered.

I feel a lot of the people who really loved Warcraft lore have left this place.

The “identity” of this game is whatever Blizz wants it to be. They creature the lore, the story, the setting. We have no say over that. Sure, we can complain til the cows come home, but at the end of the day, it’s their property and their choice.

They can add whatever the hell they want, including races and plotholes. You don’t get to dictate what other people create just because you don’t like it.

If it bothers you that much, get a job at Blizzard and try to make the changes you want to see. Or hell, make your own game so then it’s exactly the story and setting you want.

As for the whole “tearing down faction barriers” that’s called character growth. They finally realized that endlessly battling each other because “human bad” “orc bad” is absolutely dumb and, quite frankly, boring. It’s been beaten and abused and it’s about time they moved on from it.

God forbid the story changes and characters grow instead of staying the EXACT SAME for 30 years.

Opening warlocks to all races, even those that make no sense. But everyone’s okay with it.

Not to mention the number of threads wanting more ludicrous changes and complaining why we didn’t get this or that, casting aside the why of it all. Playable Tuskarr, Playable Kyrian, Undead Druids, etc.

Neverwinter Nights and its sequel. The city itself is different than it portrayal in the DnD tabletop. The main emblem is different, Aribeth, Fenthick, Desther, and Aarin Gend aren’t mentioned at all in the main DnD continuity. Not to mention the Sequel’s xpac introduced the Wall of the Faithless, where mortals go when they die not worshipping any gods. Again, no mention of it in DnD continuity.

DnD may have lore, but not everyone respects it.

Warlords of Draenor and Shadowlands was the result of that. And we all know how everyone reacted to those two.

Instead we’re gonna get the same exact unity story for the next 3 xpacs.

Lore should never get in the way of good game play and player choice. Thats my two cents.

Are those “Lith Lords”?

I would counter that at some point it must. Because of wildly different views on good gameplay and player choice.

This guy can cook

This is completely an opinion, not a fact. There are plenty of people who didn’t mind these xpacs and there are people who enjoyed them. Just because there are people who speak louder doesn’t mean their opinion is the only that exists.

To say that “everyone” reacted a certain way when there a millions of people who play this game is just biased and ignorant.
