US currency is made of cotton and linen. The only reason you think it has value is because the government says it has value.
I rarely carry cash anymore. I wave a magic plastic card and receive goods and services. If that isn’t made up money I don’t know what is.
True, but I ain’t gonna lie it’s done me good… I bought 5 Bitcoins when they 1st came out and I just sold them a couple years ago
I bought the 5 bitcoins for $5.36 cents
And sold them for quarter of a million…
But the uncle Sam bite that I got from that was. Freaking ridiculous.
No.
I do NOT want to have to add anything WoW-related to my tax returns. The damned thing is complicated enough already.
And pollution!
Which makes it legal tender that has value, unlike crypto. Try buying a house or car with crypto and let me know how that goes.
Literally explains any currency, including memebucks, other than bartering actual necessities back and forth.
Automaton scum! Have a taste of LiberTEA
Lmao. You haven’t looked recently have you? You can buy food, flights, cars, and all kinds of stuff with crypto.
While you are at it, turn old TCG items into NFTs that can be resold (but doing so would remove the item from your account).
No one would ever turn a spectral into an NFT, watch the value drop 99% lol
Somewhere in a dark cold and damp basement there’s a WoW dude surrounded by crypto machines smiling big right now.
If anything is bad for the environment it is crypto.
There’s a joint around the corner from where I live that makes truly wonderful food-of-the-Gods hamburgers. They only take cash. So my real-money test is this: can I use it to get a truly excellent hamburger?
For good old U.S. greenbacks, the answer is yes.
For Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Etherium, and other assorted digital beanie babies, the answer is no.
What is their stance on doubloons or possibly even tripbloons?
Dunno. Gold, I think I’d put that in a safe deposit box rather than try to buy a burger with it.
Besides, gold hasn’t been real money since Nixon took us off the gold standard for good in the early seventies.
and forces you to use it lol. “legal tender…public and private”.
We can say we’re not forced, but a number of private currencies, including one here in my home city from years back, have been shut down due to supposed fears of someone…gasp…not paying their taxes on said financial exchange…or being used by criminals.
Its just a matter of time before bitcoin is in congress sights and they try to make it illegal or so regulated that no one will bother with it.
Trade a chicken for your doctors services these days and the IRS will find some way to bill for it, lmao
Same. Mostly because panhandlers get my money every time I have cash, lol. If I think theyre actually hungry I cant turn them down.
it’ll never happen but when silver and gold used to be money, they had some semblance of real value. Today even moreso given silvers vastly numerous industrial uses.
Better as commodities, in my opinion so I can use them to make more fiat with, lol, and governments arent setting a price for the metals like way back when.
Literally had some local restaraunts around here who said they accepted bitcoin.
Better cash that in quick before the price drops. lol.
not sure how it ended up but thru last year I was reading a ton of articles about all the power being used for the crypto farms. A lot of environmentalist were tossing fits. Given it doesnt actually exist, like silver gold or even the stock market which represents real companies, I can see why people think BC is a waste of energy.
a lot of my gold bug friends hate that fact, but personally, Im 100% for it.
metals being commodities is perfect for me…I can buy them, wait for the price of one metal to go up, swap it out for one that didnt and end up with more of the commodity for no extra cash.
I made a literal killing on rhodium that I bought under $1000 an oz and it shot up to $26,000. lol. Didnt take any payout but had the company give me the balance in more silver. I love free stuff, lol.
that seems like a really good reason to use actual money over crypto as a medium of exchange
Wouldn’t that turn the game into a even worse cesspool of bots?
If the point is to make money with WoW, might be better if Blizzard just pay us a salary to play. Dream job, ey?
Yes, I have. Being able to buy a couple of products here and there in only major metropolitan areas doesn’t invalidate my point. I think there’s like one place online to buy cars, and outside of finding some sucker to give you his house for Bitcoin, you’re not going to find any realtors and banks listing houses in coin. They’ll make you exchange it for USD so you have to show the income for tax reasons first, then hand it over to them.
Show us on the chart which crypto influencer rug-pulled you [hint: It’s all of them]
