Turn on auto quest tracking command

I was browsing the Customer support forum and someone found a fix to turn on auto quest tracking so when you accept a new quest it is auto listed on the right of the screen (that feature was removed from the interface with the new patch). I just tested the fix by abandoning a quest and accepting it again and it worked. The fix is via the command line. Copy and paste the following command in your chat window and hit enter. The fix still worked after logging out and back in.

/run SetCVar("autoQuestWatch", 1) ReloadUI()

Or use something like MonkeyQuest addon?

There are a few good ones out there, but I understand some folks don't like using addons at all, so...yeh. At least there's the console command.

So this useful feature was removed to dumb-down the UI .. seems someone from Mozilla is now on the WOW UI dev. team after destroying Firefox's bookmark mechanism with the same dumb mentality.

Why the f*ck would Blizzard remove this option from the UI? Stupid.

Fixed this problem for me.

Posting in the thread to add that this should go back in the visible settings of the interface...

1. Advanced Interface Options addon is your friend.

2. This didn't need a necro.

I cannot find the Advanced Interface Option addon and the script did nothing for me! Grrr this is so annoying!!

Not working


Worked for me, first time I tried it didn't work. Second time I made sure there were no spaces in that command line at all.

It worked for me.

I just did:

/run SetCVar("autoQuestWatch", 1)

and then, after that:

/reload.

Thanks for this, I lost this long ago in Legion somehow, and never knew how to get it back.

Piddy, thank you so much, the way you wrote it worked perfectly. You have been a life saver, I've been suffering for a long time with clicking on each quest to track it, but once BFA came out I just couldn't handle this anymore. I tried other solutions yours is the one that worked right.

does not work... whenever i reload UI i'm disconnected from server
