Turn off Azerite traits

There’s some wacky interactions between BFA borrowed power and SL class design happening on prepatch that are super toxic. Just turn off Azerite traits already.

Agreed, Its a very easy way to make the balance on the prepatch not be completely lopsided.

Agreed.

Then I can swap specs to test things out and feel like I’m getting representative performance without visiting the azerite reformer.

as a shadow priest I’m going to have to disagree with your suggestion.

Also, we’ve probably all seen people saying things like, “Oh my god, I’m going to roll X for slands” without realizing that it’s not remotely representative of slands classes. The Azerite traits are just muddying the waters.

Yeah, I’m kinda surprised they didn’t turn off azerite traits when they turned off corruption. Seemed like the right time to do it.

Wow of all the ways to misuse the word Toxic lol…

Anyway, welcome to prepatch.
You should have seen what it was like in Legion!
Look up wowhead’s post on Hemostasis the talent and Hemostasis the legendary.

Not going to lie, it is funny seeing shadow priests deal 3x the damage of anyone else and almost as much healing as the 2nd highest damage dealers in BGs.

But that doesn’t mean it’s good for the game. Usually when I laugh, it’s a bad sign.

that’s probably the most interesting use of the word “toxic” i’ve ever seen.

What else would you call mashing arcane missiles for max DPS instead of a dps rotation because of a hangover system that was poorly thought out to begin with?

Unbalanced? Overpowered?

:grimacing: Please don’t, I rely on resounding protection (the refreshing absorb) so I don’t die

No, that would be something like, playing your class properly results in well than above average performance.

This is playing your class improperly and in a way that a drinkybird could play it and dominating- basically encouraging the worst behavior.

This was actually also a problem for low level PvP all of BFA, where people would roll free lv20 mage alts, arcane missile 1 shot spam to lv29, delete, and start again.

Pass, they have not currently finished with class balance and turning them of would leave some classes completely broken.

Edit, I need more coffee

“Let’s leave azerite and essences active while turning off corruption because N’Zoth is dead. These items are legacy but will remain active on all pre-9.0 UImapIDs. Naturally no armor carries over to the next expansion so that is why you won’t have these things work in shadowlands but we left them on to give life to legacy content.” -Blizzard

Lol, people want CLASS design over borrowed power design. Having borrowed power interact poorly with classes expansion to expansion is just another reason to trashcan the whole idea.

And you have your class design.

The 9.0 class changes.

And the borrowed power system of BFA doesn’t work with it.

Which is part of why borrowed power systems should be turned off and not repeated in Slands.

Well sucks to suck then. It’s not going away.
