Turn down the distance that mobs follow you!

Why tf do mobs need to follow you for 100 yards?! Holy shiet this is annoying.
I don’t ever remember mobs running after you this long.
AND It’s annoying asf when mobs attack you from 50 feet away while trying to run around them.

I’ve never died to much questing, ever!!!

From falling to my death to 100
Mobs follows me for 3 miles. I’m rdy to quit this xpac already. It’a annoying Tf outta me & I’m not even having fun. Cant even roll with WM on cause there are 100s of alliance running around. Can’t fkin do BGs cause horde loses 90% of the time.

Wtf is the point

I’ve only experienced trouble in the maw. Are you having trouble in the Overworld?

It’s very apparent with the poor map design and the games age, how poorly scripted some of the mob walking paths are, they just bumble around waiting to attack you and only you.

followed me from the jailer weekly event to home base lol

I’m thinking it’s a bot check, to see if they’re actually playing or not. I agree though that some of the distances they follow you are absurd; I couldn’t even break aggro by traveling halfway across Nazmir and into Vol’dun.

I occasionally get the in combat bug. And I can only imagine there is some mob underground or out of sight somehow. But I can go for a long distance in a zone and still be in combat. I usually have to hearth to get rid of it.

i hate that bug

I kind of like it, it sort of reminds me of EQ back in the day. The mobs would chase you until you actually zoned out. To make matters more difficult, they wouldn’t just run back to their spawn points ignoring all of the players they came across - they would pile up on anyone. We would have to inform everyone a train of mobs were on their way.

Sorry, reminiscing about old times ;p

Well today running my shaman through the Maw dragging Thrall and Jaina behind me only to turn and see they had pulled and were dragging every mob with them to me! I was so careful and they obviously weren’t. I spirit wolfed away and those mobs continued to follow. It looked like a 1/2 marathon at one point!

Dunno could it be because they are trying to kill you, and them loosing track of you after moving 20 feet like a rathalos does in monster hunter is a bit silly.

The only way they get fulfillment out of their existence is by sacrificing themselves to take up 15 seconds of your time.

By nice to them and turn around and hit them with your sword for a bit.

Don’t hit a mob when it’s chasing you. Just don’t. For some craptastic reason, that extends their leash range and they’ll chase you infinitely. People abused this way back when, so far back in Vanilla and TBC, to drag world bosses in to capital cities and such.

The short of it: Don’t do a single point of damage to a mob chasing you–That makes them keep chasing you. Just run.

I hated gathering the shards for silver wind from bastion in a huge elite zone. However as a priest I mind soothed a bunch and just faded and was literally running right through the mobs with no problem. I also really like being able to mind control them off the world in that zone makes it easier to deal with

Where is this bizarre reverse parallel universe that you reside in? I’d like to move there.

Ugh. I want the distance INCREASED. Anyone that wants the pitifully tiny distance that mobs follow you in wow to decreased, doesn’t like MMO’s and should go play something else.

This is how it should be, or at least not the tiny leash the mobs in wow have. Elite mob leash should be baseline, and elite leash should be 2x as long.

Blame the map design because players are too impatient. Sounds legit.

I quit last night after being on for 17 minutes cause I couldn’t get a pack of mobs to drop. Went from the house of the chosen, halfway into the swamp. Had to kill them because why have a reasonable leash. No reason to have them follow you that far when that area is already way over packed.

Yeah I think leash and aggro distance are way too short. So I can’t get on board with this.

I remember those days. Going down to Oasis and finding 20 people on the Northern Ro zone line and asking “What’s going on?”

“Spectres.”
