Hear me out please. Been playing Claire obscur expedition 33 for the past few weeks and couldn’t help but imagine this gameplay in world of Warcraft. I know we have battle pets but honestly as a huuuge fan of jrpgs I have never even thought about playing the battle system in wow. It’s just not good.
obviously I would start small and maybe just create a separate delve that is entirely turn based. You walk up to a mob and the fight starts with your own character and class and with reimagined spells, abilities and so on.
I don’t know just wanted to put it out there. Maybe blizzard would read this and think it’s a good idea. A long shot lol but whatever. Have a nice day all!
i liked cyberpunk so why can’t we have FPS segments in wow
because it’s a different game?

An interesting idea, but I don’t think WoW is the place for it.
When the standard mode for all content is “go as fast as you can without immediately dying”, I doubt there’s a huge market for patient, thoughtful combat.
So an entirely different game.

I like point and click adventures like Deponia and Edna breakout.
Can I have that here?
Because that’s fps and wow is an rpg game and expedition 33 is an rpg game so that’s why. And we already have this system in wow… think before you answer maybe ?
We have FPS in WoW too. It’s a darkmoon faire game.
So we already have turn-based combat in pet battles, like you said. There it is. Go do it.
thats all i need to hear. no

Lol people comparing this to fps is honestly the dumbest thing I’ve heard. It’s not an entirely new thing. This is already in wow I’m just suggesting more depth and scope
I’ve been playing a lot of Super Mario lately, and I think WoW should become a side-scroller.
This is what you sound like - every attempt to defend your post is making you look sillier and sillier.

No, WoW is an MMORPG.
And it’s entirely seprate in its own bubble using pets, not our characters.
What you want is to change our character’s combat system, talent system, ability system, etc. in our end game content.
Might I suggest you come up with something that’s different and can exist in its own bubble, not part of end game pillars?
This is certainly a novel idea and an interesting game mode. Not an easy one, but I’d love to see the combat model that automates the real time attack system this uses through AI to turn this into a turn mode. Pretty cool stuff.
I feel it works against everything that the retail community has warmed to as a skill based real time combat system, and this community does not like new ideas.
But why not? Holly says there’s room for everyone.
I like survival horror like the old skool resident evil games (pre-re4). Make delves like that kthx
i like old text based games like Leisure Suit Larry–why cant i have that in WoW?
I hate turn-based combat, but I respect that Clair Obscure got GotY. Its art was incredible, but it wasn’t my cuppa. I play WoW because it’s real-time, and I give pet battles a miss - precisely because they’re turn-based and I don’t like Pokémon.
I only play turn based games with waiting for my coffee.
Wake up samurai, we gotta tree to burn

Well mmorpg is still an rpg and this system is already there in its own bubble and im definitely not suggesting to change the game like you were alluding to. I meant it as a separate thing where it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the game with its own system and yes your own characters but not the actual character you play the open world with. People comparing this to wanting a survival horror game lol. People get so angry at new ideas without even thinking what to reply
No. 33 is basically just a really cheap knockoff of Lost Odyssey, a game that came out nearly 20 years ago on the Xbox 360. Like as somebody who played the crap out of Lost Odyssey, 33 is literally just a really poorly made version of it where they didn’t seem to actually give a crap about the actual story. I was not moved, and I was not impressed. And I was actually really surprised when it won as many awards as it did because it tells me a lot about the state of games.
All the Old Guard for the most part have just left.
Nobody wants to keep playing these games where it’s basically just some rehashed reiteration of something that somebody else already did at least three times.
Oh look another Nier game
Oh look, God of war 9.
Oh look, GTA 6
Oh look, call of duty modern warfare 2, version three. And about a hundred cod clones.
33? Lost Odyssey did it better.
I could go on and on about all of the absolutely absurd game franchises that really aren’t even worth buying anymore, like the assassin’s Creed series. That hasn’t been worth the money since they got rid of Ezio from the storyline. Ever since then it’s just been a bunch of cash grabs and microtransactions for a game that’s barely holding together.
So why would I ever want to take anything from any of these other mid-tier games and add them to yet another mid-tier game?
I love turn-based games just as much as the next person, in fact, the vast majority of the games that I ever played growing up were turn-based games.
I have excessively fond memories of the “Golden Sun” series that thankfully only made three games. And that third one was really kind of pushing their luck with the quality. But they tried to do something new by making a game on the 3DS and it didn’t work out so well. But they tried.
But they also recognized that there isn’t really a point to making another one.
There’s not really a story worth telling there anymore. They cleared it all up.
And honestly a turn-based delve would literally be the longest thing I could possibly imagine.
well the devs of 33 did play lost odyssey and got inspiration from that im sure lol.
side note - im so mad that some good jrpgs got stuck on xbox back then.
magna carta 2 is one i wish they brought back.
