Turbo boost patch / dinar system is too much player power

Reminder that this was how they described cartel chips.

Renown 17

Receive a Puzzling Cartel Chip, which can be traded for a Weapon, Trinket, or otherwise Special Item from the Liberation of Undermine.

  • Similar again to Dragonflight Season 4’s Bullions and Shadowlands Season 4’s Dinar, these are intended to have their own upgrade track - which will mean they’ll scale to the maximum rank of 14 given enough crests and valorstones.
  • This could change before launch, but the intent is for these to be fully upgradeable and usable by anyone that reaches this point, and not locked or conditioned to certain difficulties.

Yes, I’m well aware. They changed their mind - and instead of 1, they offered 2 + a whole host of other player power upgrades. What else does the player base want at this point?

(which, after a ton of complaining, they bumped to 3 now)

This is already unprecedented player power increases into what WAS a competitive season that now will be a total joke.

people want their expectations met. they would have said nothing, it would have been just fine… the hard life of communicating with clients…

Blizzard is ridiculous at times but often I think the playerbase is even worse.

it is always like that with clients. their needs are changing and they ll ask for changes to meet those needs. they also feel like is their game. i understand some people have benn playing for decades… at the end, wow devs should communicate better, knowing their clients… they seem to fail regularly at communicating …

they took to long and let everyone believe that it was going to be treated the same. their lack of communication has caused this problem. what were promised compared to what we got is a massive difference. i know plenty of people who were waiting to see when the dinar was going to come out before deciding on canceling their sub for the season. with how this was announced alot of people are now done for the season and are going to cancel their subs which is the opposite of what blizzard wants but here we are again with blizzards poor communication skills causing problems they made but somehow you blizzard white knights still defend them after 20 years of screwing up

Weird question, is this a raid thing? What’s a dinar? If I don’t raid does this apply to me?

Agreed on their communication being terrible.

But to disagree, they over delivered with the massive player power coming. This is an insane jump in ilevel and gear like we’ve never seen before midway through a season.

Turns the whole thing into a meme season

Which is why it’s even more of a meme season than any fated season has ever been.

Because even the WoWhead class guides for BiS gear were under the assumption we would get Myth track gear, they even tell you to plan accordingly around it.

they delivered nothing. maybe for those still doing lfr-aotc but for those of us who already have aotc but dont do mythic or people who only do m+ this did nothing at all. blizzard promised something then changed it and is getting the negative feedback they deserve. it just shows how out of touch they are with the playerbase as usual

for me this is nothing more than some gear for alts as my main and next 2 most geared also dont actually have a use for this other than maybe xmog

You’re telling me you have heroic jastor, best in slots, house of cards? No way fam. Calling your bluff now.

They are bumping i level with 2 extra level of gear upgrades + these dinars. We’ve never had this before.

If you’re telling me everyone isn’t benefitting huge from having heroic house of cards + best in slots / gally weapons that they 100% DO NOT have, you are out of your mind.

It’s so frustrating because part of a season is planning around upgrades, vault choices and now all of that is out the window

People complaining about mythic gally carries as if this isn’t’ gonna drive the price down on them. Everyone and their mother will be able to clear mythic raids with all this gear inflation

He didn’t say it was not upgradeable, he said they did not INCREASE the upgrade track’s cap (Dinars in S4 were purchased at 1/14, not 1/16 which would be the +6 ilvl gains we’re getting with Cartel Chips that we did not get with Dinars).

Not 100% of them have it, but yes the people that do have it 100% do have it.

It’s really not out of the realm of reality to be set on trinkets and have a 675 weapon crafted. A weapon cantrip is unlikely to beat 10 ilvls on your weapon. Which is why people craft a weapon and don’t replace it unless they get a myth track weapon.

My main has a 675 weapon, a hero track house of cards, hero track mechanocore, and a hero track pacemaker. I have BiS and BiS adjacent trinkets coming out of my ears. After crafting is buffed again he will have a 681 weapon, which will still beat out a hero track raid weapon.

Crafting is really not taken into consideration when people make their “You don’t deserve mythic quality without mythic raiding” arguments.

Agreed. Two more upgrades and a way to get rare items like a Jastor or items that just refuse to drop for me (Damn you Sprocket refusing to drop my Mister Pick Me Up /shakesfist ).

I’ll certainly get good use out of the cartel chips.

They are raising i level on heroic pieces. It likely will be better - regardless, a VERY small % of the playerbase has bis trinkets / jastor in heroic.

They are also raising potential ilvl on crafted pieces. So the difference is going to remain roughly the same.

Crafted items will be 681 which will be one upgrade away from a max upgrade mythic piece. Just like it is now.
