This is stupid. Just get to where the Warlocks class is doing good and some changes made that actually help, and NOW they nerf again and everything goes to Shiat.
You have Ret pallys and shamens OP but keep screwing up Warlocks. I don’t care how much ive spent on this expac, but this crap is getting old. I actually thought the Dev’s was going in the right direction, but was wrong again. Some of the Dumbest changes yet and just kills the fun after you guys continue to screw things up. Your NEVER going to fix Affliction and you just keep messing up the other two specs warlocks have. Time to shelve this mess and find something better.
What are you mad about, a 4% damage nerf to Demonology or the Affliction patch notes? I think this is a step in the right direction for Afflic, the longer UA will help a lot when we pop out Darkglare and beefier shadow bolts were MUCH needed.
Warlock
Affliction
Corruption and Wither damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
Agony damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
Unstable Affliction now lasts 12 seconds in PvP combat (was 8 seconds), a 50% increase in its total damage dealt.
Shadow Bolt damage increased by 100% in PvP combat.
Drain Soul damage increased by 100% in PvP combat.
Why? Affliction is almost exactly in the middle, ahead of 12 other specs. If it were to get buffed it would be something like a 1% aura buff. Why even bother with that?
Once u realize it is impossible to achieve perfect balance (and i mean that literally), you will come to terms that tuning is a rotating favoritism that places some above others. You cannot, and i repeat, cannot make it so no class is better than the other.
So what u mean by “the right direction” is actually “my class/spec needs to be above others”, but that cannot always be the case since they tend to rotate who gets to be ahead.
Which means u are left with two options:
always reroll what’s overtuned to stay with the “right direction”.
stick to ur spec regardless and play it during its highs and lows.
Now whether your chosen spec is fun to u or not, regardless of tuning, is a subjective experience that is mostly tied to your desired endgame and design philosophy.
Aff suffers from the exact same problem Ret had, that being the talent tree is split cleanly into single target or AoE. No tuning is going to fix that. They need to overhaul a large portion of the tree to fix it.
