Tuesday Maintanance

Man this is crazy. 8 hours? What do they think they’re doing? It’s obviously just a regular Tuesday and not their 20 year anniversary where tons of things need updated and changed…

See that’s all I ask for. Now I can comfortably do something else.

The 10x “one more hour” is unacceptable.

Its a major patch. Expect extensions.

I hope they’ll make more eels tameable. I love them. They’re adorable. I named mine Xenognathus.

I frankly don’t care how long it takes as long as:

  • They don’t break something new that is so significant we have a major loss to deal with
  • They are using this time to help restore the items they lost from the guild bank bug

I’m easy. Just those two things. Their track record though? It will take a long time and multiple mini patches and restarts before it’s okay and safe to play.

You’re not getting anymore back, they lost it, it was straight up data loss, what you got back if anything is all you’re getting, they admitted they didn’t know anything else you had beyond what they’d sent

Tuesday would a great day to:

  • Play a different game on your rig.
  • Break out the old game console (might need to install updates first)!
  • Clean/organize your room/office/house.
  • Fix those steps outside your house that you’ve been meaning to for the past year or so.
  • Hang out with a friend.
  • Take a drive somewhere scenic.
  • Troll the WoW forums until the game comes back up.

No. They said nothing of the sort. You shouldn’t defend this company and their actions (or in this case their inaction).

Come again?

Face it, they messed up, you aren’t getting any more back

Oh, I know I’m not getting anything back. To say it was complete data loss is giving them too much credit (or acknowledging their incompetence). The most likely case is they looked at number of players impacted and said - eh, we can lose that many subs - let’s not take a day to get the backup out and restore stuff.

You don’t need to defend their inaction.

Or, you know, there was incompetence and they didn’t have logs going far enough back

I recently did an 8 hour braised beef…got shanks from the butcher…

Recipe as follows.

Coat the shanks with flour salt and pepper and sear. Set aside.
In a large pot, saute carrots, celery, onion, garlic, and bay leaves until all soft and properly sweat.

When vegetables are soft, add in 1 large can of tomato sauce, 1 small can of tomato paste, 2 cups of beef stock, 1 cup of your favorite red wine. Add in the meat and a handful of fresh Rosemary. Bring to a boil. When a rapid boil occurs remove from stove and place in a 375 degree oven for an hour.

After an hour reduce to 275 and leave it stirring once an hour for 6-7 hours or so.

Serve on top of papperdell pasta. It’s…HEAVEN…

expect at least 12 hours, there is way way to much stuff being nerfed and hot fixed and 20th event stuff launching for it to truly only be 8 hours

I’ve never done a braised beef before but this sounds like it could be fun. Any tips on what sides you serve with it?

Also, what kind of onions do you use?

I’m out of town on business that day, so it’s not going to be my problem.

At least, not until I get home Friday night and have an update waiting for me.

Just standard white onions. You won’t need a side it’s basically like a stew when it’s done. The meat will literally melt in your mouth. I always serve it over pasta and the leftovers with rice. I like a really fat pasta so papperdell works perfect. Maybe some bread or something on the side but it really is a full meal.

I’ve also done it with orzo. Works well too.

I was thinking maybe trying a rice pilaf on the side for another dish, but orzo sounds like it’d be great with it. I actually have some so I think I’ll try that :eyes:

Awesome…glad I could be some inspiration. Lol. Enjoy it. I’m gonna go look up the actual entire recipe just to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything.

I’ll let you know how it goes. Hit me with that recipe article if you find the whole thing!

It’s in my cupboard…one of my mom’s old recipes. We used to do it for Christmas dinner. It’s a big deal. Lmao.
