TTK In BGs is Excessive

I’ve recently returned to retail after a long hiatus, and I’ve noticed that the time-to-kill (TTK) in PvP has become excessively long. Players rarely die in battlegrounds now. In blitz mode, a top player might only achieve five kills in an entire match. Each fight over a control point drags on for minutes, often without a decisive victory through combat. Instead, matches are decided by who can stealthily capture and hold the flag. I believe player damage needs to feel more impactful in battlegrounds to make the gameplay more engaging.

Shoulda been in my last blitz. Two DHS and two mm hunters per side… Everyone died endlessly. Only the healers died a couple of times. 0-0 ctf map because no tanks meant nobody could make it the other side alive. DHS maybe coulda but they all just hung out in mid :roll_eyes:

I think some specs need their numbers tuned up a bit but a few specs absolutely murder.

I’ve died a lot in BG’s. If you practice, you can die a lot too. Practice well, and you can die very quickly.

I think the TTK’s are fine for BGs. I also think they will drop as everyone caps gear.

I know I look forward to being blown up, cause it’s gonna happen.

I’m wondering what game you are playing. The only fights where people don’t die quickly are the fights where all four healers are there.

play as a tank spec and keep 6/8 of them busy while the rest of your team caps the stuff and has snacks

Good, high burst metas are cancer.

OP must be playing different game than i am. :stuck_out_tongue:

The unsaid part is that few dps actually put out the damage they should be, making it take much longer for anyone to die. Full geared dps that somehow do 10M damage in a game while someone in the same gear does 50M.

If the dps were performing closer to thier potential in damage and applied utility then we’d see a lot more deaths.

Yeah, maybe one is playing objectives and one is just sticking to every team fight.

Also, someone doing 10 million damage in a fight with no healers is often times going to have more killing blows than someone doing 50 million damage in a healer stalemate fight.

have to agree. I play 4 classes all are 520 or higher on pvp right now and all of them struggle with healers and tank style guys even when doing great dps and well-timed stuns etc. they are currently TOO survivable. I understand alot of healers that couldn’t pvp well cried for long time and now healers are near indestructible, however as stated at the start I agree healers and tank style need a bit of a nerf in pvp.

it seems pretty good now.
vanilla was the worst, you kill someone in low level warsong and they are back by the time you run across the map

Yeah I mean if you suck then you can die really fast. Have you tried sucking?
I die a lot! Which means my suck to death ratio is right in the sweet spot!

There is a fine line between blitz where healers don’t die and classic-wod where people are flopping so fast you cant even blink.

Yep. I hate the focus on damage done. Damage done means nothing. Good rogue who does little damage overall can win games.

Some specs are far too durable, some do far too much damage, so TTK varies wildly, depending on skill, gear, and specs involved.

bro im out here doing double a mages damage on my mistweaver monk. u aint wrong.

and these mages dont even have time warp on their bars. im sorry but mages really give me the ick. i hate them so much only 1/100 is any good

I do get yelled at sometimes for using BL like I do, pretty much on CD as soon as things get a bit challenging. I can see why some people might be shy about casting it. I remember, too, how back in the day if I had a mage on my team or I was playing my mage the shaman always had priority to cast since they had more experience with the spell.
