…and I’m soooo confused. I’ve been scouring websites like Wowhead and Wowpedia to figure some things out but I’m still confused about some basic things.
I last played during BfA, and was maxed out there. Now I log in and my character is level 50. I understand there was a level squish.
So from what I gather, Shadowlands is lvl 50-60 and Dragonflight is 60-70. But when I look at the map, it shows Zandalar/Kul Tiras going to level 60. Why don’t they go to 50???
I want to first go do Shadowlands content before I go to Dragon Isles. A few other questions:
I have some level 60 boosts, would using one of those be useful to gain more talent points before going to Shadowlands?
Because BFA is the default leveling x-pack now and it scales from 10 to 60, which is where Dragon Flight starts.
I assume you are talking about Chromie time. Talking to chromie in your faction’s capitol city lets you decide what WoW x-pack you want to level in (other than BFA), and all content in your selection will scale with you all the way to 60. For example, if you pick Cata/Classic you can level in old world zones and dungeons all the way to 60.
Shadowlands is an option in Chromie time, so if you want to do it DO NOT USE YOUR BOOST if you want it to scale to your level. You can’t use Chromie Time after level 59.
However, you always have the option to go back and do it outside of Chromie Time, but at max level it would probably be boring because you would 1-shot everything.
Thanks! Is there a difference between me just starting the Shadowlands quest line from Orgrimmar (I see the quest is there), or starting it through Chromie?
Recommendation would be to boost to 60, skip shadowlands as it’s systems were abandoned and would just make things more confusing, then start from dragonflight on character 1. When that character is sufficient it will be easier to backtrack on alts to see other things you missed out on.
The only draw-back to a boost is that I’m pretty sure it disqualifies that character from getting heritage armor transmog in DF. Not all classes have heritage armor yet, but if appearances and mog collection are a thing you enjoy, that’s a reason to maybe not boost a toon that would otherwise have been able to do the heritage armor quest at L70.
I’m not sure what “its systems (Shadowland’s) were abondoned” means.
So if I still do want to level from 50-60 in Shadowlands, is it best to use Chromie or just take the Shadowlands starter quest in Org? Is there a difference?
