So, been a healer for 17+ years. Came back to WoW after a two year break. Leveled up this Warrior, got as close to a naked Barbarian Mog as I can make currently and…it just isn’t that fun to play.
Prot is the most bland tank in the game, imo. Press like 4 buttons a billion times per minute, all of which amount to “Block + Pray magic doesn’t kill you”.
Fury is okay. Probably the most fun Warrior spec, but it still just kinda feels like “Press BT and Rampage, Brah!”.
Arms is either…ALL THE RAGE IS MINE!!!..or “You guys go on ahead…I need a nap”. Usually in the same fight.
Leveling to 60 was a nightmare at times. Struggling to stay alive due to the lack of self heals, meanwhile I’m watching Warlocks, DKs, DHs and everyone else slaughter elites. I legit bled out after a fight with a goat and had to run back to my…spirit body?
Does it get better with gear and Best Friend Traits (or whatever they are called)?

I’ve never been able to level a warrior past level 40… Too boring.

isn’t this like 90% of specs tho?
prot pally has hotr, judgement, AS, and sotr for example.
I guess we press consecrate too, so that’s 5 core buttons.
not counting CDs and other situational abilities of course.
From my understanding (and playtesting), Prot war has the highest APM of the tanks.
You were doing it wrong, then. Fury absolutely shreds leveling content, has passive healing, plus 1 ability to boost that healing, plus Impending Victory, which you can pick up pretty early on.
I agree prot feels a little lackluster. Not sure about arms, since I haven’t played it since Legion. Fury is fun, but if you’re already feeling that it’s repetitive, you might want to look for another class.
Fury is super fun and slaps in m+
Single target is bad
Arms is boring to me
Prot is fun but is the weakest of the tanks.
Basically fury or gtfo

Warriors do struggle staying alive it’s kill it fast or die. Ignore pain doesn’t really help much.
I find this a struggle with mages too, they have 0 self heals. I feel like a pinata as a mage for mobs, but some people manage in a way I don’t know soloing world content.
Going to make another warrior and make it tank to see if it fairs better on survival.

You should be using victory rush after every kill and you’ll have no problem staying alive?
take second wind for leveling, learn to run in circles, that and ignore pain, heroic leap, you should have no problem…
My Fury Warrior is a cleaving, self healing, whirlwind of sexy mad lad chad BDE, I am so sorry you aren’t enjoying warriors.

Warrior is the most fun to play it has EVER been. Ever. By far.
It feels so much better than it ever did before, we have so much more tools than we ever had before.
If you dont like it the character just isnt for you.
Not even saying that to troll or be rude. I have lots of classes id like to play but i just cant get into… i always go back to my warrior, nothing wrong with that.
Find a class and playstyle you enjoy playing.
Spot on.
Get 4pc, equip the rb reset conduit and press rampaging blow x4 then rampage. The rotation changes using RA in that rb changes to crushing blow and you press that while auto charging to your doom during rek and random 4pc rek procs. Adds to the fun, adds to the death counter. Also in M+ its a case of charge > bladestorm > release spirit. 18% more threat from all tanks might help, might not because it feels like fury gets that threat also (including doing half the damage of a warlock and still pull threat).
Correct. Double charge talent is a dps gain for chargeweaving. WFT is a massive gain because you gererate almost enough rage to do a normal rotation.
You hit a point with gear where it does feel amazing only because its felt so bad. The other sidee is an lfr gavel of jailor provides the same dps as a 278 weapon. Also running last tiers raid for an ows that at 246 is still the best trinket in the game feels amazing.

Wells, sorry to hear you’re finding Warriah borin’! As Arms I’ll admits sometimes it takes a bit to get goin, but there’s stuffs later on to help resource managments! Managin’ Charges to keep Rage ups helps a bunch!
Really it’s more ‘bout the identity of the class for me: You’re goin’ around with oversized weapons smashin’ dragons, beasts and what are equals to gods. Rights in the face.
Also yous screamin’ gives buffs, which fits me to a tees.
I’m on my 3rd warrior this expansion, prot is okay I generally use it for killing stuff that poses any type of threat(rares, harder-hitting mobs). Once getting semi-decent ilvl Fury became real fun, the biggest issue I had was getting decent weapons. After leveling 24 or so toons to 60 I would have to agree most of them are 4-5 buttons classes these days.
Easy answer is yes. Both fury and arms are more gear dependant compared to other specs.
Most people at this stage of progression are entirely misinterpreting what the combat is. Someone will say, oh this is boring, while playing so fundamentally wrong that it is nearly unfixable. Don’t look at your action bar, look at the game world. This is what Blizzard is trying to push people toward with skill culling. The bottom 99.9999% of players seem to miss this detail.
Arms is boring while leveling and less boring at max but still boring. It suffers from rage starvation if you’re not careful and you don’t build tons of rage like fury does. You have to be on point with arms cause one miss fire and you could be auto attacking till you build it back up.
The order in which you get your skills while leveling is also out of wack. The skills that they should save towards max level you get near the beginning and the skills you should learn early on you get near the end and in the middle of learning your skills it can go either correctly or out of wack. Plus we are lacking the rage building shout which I miss.
Fury is insanely fun compared to arms. You suffer from too much rage generation if you don’t use it and you have heals and can basically just press any free skill button not on CD but that isn’t really efficient.
Prot I have limited experience with though I do have a level 51. If I remember correctly it is slow in the beginning until you get about half a bar to a whole bar of skills and then it picks up. I think it has better rage usage then arms but not tons of extra like fury. This may have changed though cause I haven’t played him in over a year.
