People here justangry they were forced to crawl through sewage and broken glass on their belly (play shadow lands) and you skipped it so they think you should have to too.
Don’t actively farm it, farm zm because you have a lot to do there for mounts and you can easily get anima. Use the anima and do the torgast for souls to get your covenant base to level 3 everything which doubles the anima you receive on that char (permanently this follows to other factions).
Then just do the weekly zm (Patterson within Patterns) for grateful offerings because everything about shadow lands sucks.
For renown don’t try to level it. Just run through old raids for mogs like you normally would. Every boss levels you a renown. You already need to farm the gear so whatever. Then once it’s max, swap, skip to 60, then farm mog in the raids and you can max them all out with little effort at all
Unfortunately there is no way to skip through campaign the first time to unlock zm. At least you are higher level now so that utter crime against the player base is… faster? I guess? It’s awful. It’s like they had meetings on how far they can push the player base before they actually kill the game
I absolutely GD adore the WoW forum archetype of guaranteed-friendless-nolifer acting like they don’t get paid enough to deal with everyone else’s BS when someone on the forum for discussion reasonably goes “man this system was poorly set up and doesn’t feel very fun”
Like if you’re hanging out with friends and your buddy says “man I wish this student loan debt wasnt so damn high” do you go “Oh so you don’t want to pay for your college, whiner? If you don’t like the country, just move?”
Realistically I’m the dumb one for even posing this hypothetical cause of course you godforsaken people don’t have friends to hang out with, or a buddy to say anything to you at all.
I bet it’s bad… I luckily did all my renowns to max when it was current and it was very easy to do. Passively got it, and very quickly just by doing normal stuff. Can’t imagine that grind now =/
I hate all renown systems and I used to really care about rep grinds. Now I just don’t care at all. Same with professions. Devs managed to take timeless things like rep and professions and make them over the top ridiculous to the extent I don’t even try them at all.
That’s how I see it. If you really feel so miserable grinding old content… then… don’t grind old content? But then they’ll say, “But how else will I get the transmog!?” So if that’s the core of the issue, you’re blaming the game for not being specifically tailored for rewarding you the way you think it subjectively should?
I guess I’ll get so miserable and quit this game because I can’t just automatically get the Bloodsail Bucanneer title it’s old content, should be mine automatically.
Well you don’t have to like it the way it is. I happen to have no problem with the way it is. I actually prefer rare things remain rare and not made so mind numbingly easy.
So you want to complain and whine that something is difficult and not fun to you fine. But no… I’m not coming to your pity party because I disagree with your complaint.
You people, as you say, have the right to whine and complain here in the forums. I have the right to post the reasons for my disagreement. Yours is not the only opinion that matters. OP doesnt like something the way it is. Others do. Get over it.
Getting angry and lashing out on a personal level isnt going to change it.
It’s additionally funny because we’re talking about an expansion that saw a massive plummet in players and is generally not well liked. Didn’t know it would be that controversial to some people but ah well!
This is honestly relatable. I don’t get why renown and everything associated with it isn’t account wide, either? That seems like the most obvious thing to do. I don’t like this whole push to get people to focus on only one character / class otherwise they’re punished for it.
It’s funny you bring that specific title up when that’s a traditional old rep grind. Thank you for the bump btw.
One of WoW’s appeals has always been account-wide achievements (since it was introduced) and access to items once unlocked, as most people who play this game change mains or juggle alts with regularity.
Anima costs versus grinding it is a joke.
I bought I think TWO pieces with anima. I refuse to play games with blizzard when they pull sadistic crap like this
i dont mind grinding. But theyve turned grinding into grinding for grindings sake…mindless busy work.
Screw that. I’ll fire up ESO before I do it.
I met a friend on another game and we got to talking about how WoW was our original mmo / the one we always return to. She showed me her alts and I was like !!! you’ve got some of those grindy SL mogs! And she said grinding for them during the anticipation for Dragonflight burned her out so badly she has no real desire to come back anytime soon.
Devs forget that in putting an enormous grind on content doesn’t just “give players something to do for longer.” It contributes to colossal burnout and sees people leaving and perhaps never returning if they find something they deem more rewarding for their time.
I think most of my WoW opinions on the gen forums throughout my history of using it (back before these new gen forums) have been more tactful, but I don’t know how else to properly convey the misery lol
not surprised at all. The sheer amount of anima grinding to get a few pieces is obscene.
I dont know how these folks did it who changed covenants and did it again, lol.
Id have crashed and burned and quit for a year if I tried it.
When the grinding is in fun content, I dont even notice it because Im enjoying the game.
SL was just pure suck after a while. so every minute of a grind was misery.
I knew people hated SL, but it kinda staggers me how overwhelmingly negative the experience was for most people in this thread.
It also shows a lack of confidence the devs have in their playerbase if they think the only way to retain them and reward them is by making them suffer? What’s that about lol
Would be a great way to breathe life into SL raids.
