There’s currently two public crafting orders up on my realm for the epic agility and int staves, with all mats, and a decent tip, and every single time I’ve tried to craft either of them, the cast bar finishes but nothing happens, and then my character is completely unable to do ANYTHING. I can’t even exit the game. For all intents and purposes, it looks like I’m being disconnected, but everyone around me is still moving around just fine and I can still chat in guild/Trade/custom channels.
I have to alt+F4 and wait for the game to boot my character, then everything’s fine again, but if I try to fill those orders again, it’s right back to the same situation. I had a friend put up a simple order for ink–both public and personal–and both worked just fine. But these two staves are sending my character to the void, lol.
I’ve tried disabling all addons, I’ve tried scan and repair, I used Character Stuck while my toon was trapped. Nothing seems to stop this from happening. Not sure if it’s just my character that’s cursed or if this is some greater issue. Extremely frustrating, though.

Having the same issue this morning. Tried to craft a work order for a weapon with a nice tip on my blacksmith. Similar bug as recently where the cast bar crafts but doesn’t complete. But this time, the character can no longer interact with the profession table or any NPCs. Had to force quit the app because I couldn’t even logout, and used the unstuck service. Logged back in, tried again, got stuck again, but unstuck service has a cooldown so I’m in limbo for however long, just waiting and hoping I can soft reset my character and get back in without the service. It’s bad enough there are so few work orders, I was happy to make some gold.
Editing to add: when I’m on my other character, I can see the stuck character still “online” in the guild. Silanna-Azgalor is the one affected.

This. I was trying to fill an order and I thought it was a bug with on my end but after it happening twice - not on my end issue.

I’m really glad it’s not just me, but also it is very frustrating! Do you remember what you were trying to make? I am hoping it will help isolate if only certain items were affected. I made treatises and chilled runes this morning without issue. Wondering if it’s just weapons or all spark items.
I was on my Inscriptionist trying to make a staff someone had up for order.
I havnt seen any orders on my other toons to see if its just a Insc problem - which from the thread, I think it might be.

Mine was blacksmithing, but also a weapon like the OP, which was what made me curious. I’m wondering if there is something to the weapon theory. Hoping if this is a widespread issue, more will chip in. I made a thread in the profession forum earlier to see if anyone else has been affected.

Yeah, I think its just a weapon thing.
I was able to go and craft some Treaties with no problem.
But if I tried to accept and do the one and only staff order, wont let me and freezes up the game and when I hard close out, it takes a while to get back in cause it does the “character exists” thing.

Having same issue trying to craft illuminating pillar as an inscriptionist. When trying to log back into the same character, I get the error message “A character with that name already exists” - tried alt f4ing, closing out completely, and logging on to another character. Just waiting for 30 minutes to log back in seems to be the only fix.

I am having this issue crafting a 2H Axe. Have crafted a lariat, rings, shield, armor, zero issues whatsoever. But every time I attempt to craft this axe the craft never completes and I’m then stuck in limbo as others have stated. I can chat but can no longer interact with the crafting table, I can’t mount, and I can’t log out. I used my character stuck one time on it which got me back in to finish other orders, but now I’m back to limbo after attempting once again to craft the axe.
This last time it happened I waited in game and it eventually booted me, so it seems like it’s some sort of disconnect that’s extremely delayed?

Quick update: I have successfully completed crafts for a Primal Molten Greataxe (same weapon as the one causing me the issue but from a different customer) as well as a Primal Molten Spellblade. The Greataxe that I successfully crafted had a minimum rank of 4 on the order, but the one that’s causing the issues has a minimum rank of 5. I don’t recall if there was a minimum rank set on the Spellblade order (and I’m unable to contact the customer to confirm).
I’m hoping that information could help narrow down what specifically is causing the issue.
I have another update! I had the customer who had sent me the Primal Molten Greataxe that was causing me all the issues resend it with r4 as the minimum instead of r5 and I was able to complete the craft with zero bugs!
What was the minimum rank requested on the orders that y’all have had issues with? Perhaps it’s having the minimum quality at r5 that’s causing the issues?
P.S. The problem craft was a 408 Primal Molten Greataxe with a r3 Draconic Missive and a Flavor Packet, in case that helps.
Same issue happening for me when trying to craft a bs public order for an Obsidian Seared Halberd. No optional reagents or infusion so just base level.
Similar issue here with a Illuminated Stave. Couldn’t even open the Bug Report tab on another character to report it.
I remember the stave being an Ingenuity make and had had rank 3 everything including a feverflare missive and Blue Silken Lining embellishment.
I’ve just run into the issue on 5/7/2023 while crafting a rank 5 bow.
This has happened to me 2 or 3 times while trying to craft staves.
The only solution so far is ALT + F4 and waiting 30 minutes.
I have no idea what the cause is. Please Fix!
Happened to me just now, trying to complete a Blacksmithing order and it wouldn’t complete and then I can’t do anything at all in game other than chat.
Still happening. Getting irritating how little help there is for this. Used the character unstuck service on my char to fix being unable to log in, tried to fill another order, and he’s stuck again lmao. Now I don’t have the unstuck service for 8 hours so I guess I’m not playing him? Imagine players who only play one char that get into this mess. Embarrassing by Blizzard, but I doubt that’s something people with decision-making ability at Blizzard are capable of feeling. At least lessen the cooldown on the unstuck service when you’ve already known this has been a problem for a long time and you make it such a hassle to contact any reps for bugs that make the game inoperable.
Add your stuck character to an alt’s friends list and wait for the server to boot them offline, shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes, but yeah. Extremely frustrating.
I haven’t had it happen in a while but I’m still leery of filling public orders, lol.
