So arcane appears to be the only viable spec in any content and its “Meh” at best? this is very strange.
I have to think dumpster specs like fire/frost get to shine in the next patch?

In mythic+ frost is not terrible. My best number is 48k overall dps in academy+11. And in that run i was top dps
In raids though, yeah, frost+fire are garbage
frost has really good playstyle, with mostly instant casts, which in DF content is bloody awesome, since everything always tries to spawn under your feet

It is also one of the lowest. It’s the highest skill cap rotation in the game right now. Look at the gap.

The gap doesn’t matter. If played properly it’s performing.
If people can’t play it properly that’s a them issue.

Arcane is really strong. Main issue I have is M+ has an insane amount of swirlies that constantly have you moving, + quaking, then volcanic, etc. It’s exhausting and really hard to get any damage off.

Honestly…many of the top specs right now are high skill cap.
MM less so, but that’s going to change once the DT removal comes into play. Even DH needs a lot of awareness now with momentum being top dog.
This was the exact same thing that mages had with fire in SL. Skilled players that could organize their combust window properly were kings, while the fotm players that couldn’t get used to the combust window were lacking.
Players willing to put in the time to learn the ins and outs of their class and spec, should be rewarded.

In every percentile on M+ its performing very well. Get out of mythic raids, and its doing very well in heroic too on every percentile.
If you want to trash the spec because it isn’t performing as well in Mythic raids, something that a majority of players will not give a damn about, then you’re skewing the view of the spec.

Even then at 95% Arcane and Fire are right beside each other.
You NEVER base a class’s performance based on 70% or the majority. You base it on 99% or 95%
Judging a spec based on three people in the universe instead of 10 thousands. Sure, why not.

Comparing IRL to performance in a game is a stretch.
If people cant play a spec properly swapping specs isnt going to change that.

The top percentiles are players that have cleared Mythic basically. The mid percentiles of Mythic raids are players that are still trying to figure out the actual raid, skewing the performance of a spec that kind of requires you to know the nuances of a fight so that you can line up burns.
We all know that arcane is not a forgiving spec to begin with. Im sure once more and more clear, arcane will rise in the mid percentiles.
What a cap comment. Good thing the rest of the world does not run on your flawed logic.
Which, according to that logic, no matter how difficult a class is to play, that means that if you cant play it to its max, you are just bad…
So a class topping charts with a 3 button rotation vs a class with 20 step 30 spell/ability rotation doing the same DPS would be OK to you… Wonderful.

It sucks being balanced around Rune of Power, Shifting Power, Ice Caller, Thermal Void, Icy Propulsion… anything that requires us to stand still or to constantly be casting to lower cooldowns / maximize damage is just bad design given the current state of the game. It’s annoying to play the class and the reward for playing the gimmicks is not worth the stress. Mage’s juice is not worth the squeeze right now. Sure, if you want to make a trinket that uses that gimmick - by all means, those are fine… our entire kit shouldn’t be a gimmick though.
