Trying in bgs is too much now?

I give up on battlegrounds now. Apparently trying to win these days is too “sweaty” or “tryhard” now. I can’t with today’s playerbase…

Sorry, /endrant. Needed to get that off my chest. And people wonder why the battlegrounds aren’t taken serious by the devs any more. How can we expect others to care for us if we look to have given up on ourselves?

I feel you. Quitter mentality seems so much more common/normalized than it was when I left the game 15 months ago. Everyone gives up so easily and quickly. Still waiting/coping on Blizz to implement stacking account-wide deserter debuffs to get rid of the quitter pests.

Here is a capture from a BG I did last night. Not even a single point on the board yet and already 3 people left because they wiped in market.

yeah its pretty sad sometimes u get a buncha loooooozas on ur team.

was doing some games on my dk and their healer wasnt dying even tho i deathgrip/chains him into our backline 50 times.

so i say in the chat " yo plz kill the healer when i grip him in"

immediately met with “stxu go do rated bg”

like jeez…

with that logic… nobody in the gym should even be trying… if they really wanna try… they should go sign up for a bodybuilding show or a powerlifting meet.

I was met with a certain set of circumstances upon me trying to get our team to try hard… Never again. From now on, you either get buffs from my augmentation or you don’t.

And you might think to yourself: but bob, I remember this one specific time I did and people listened!

But 1 out of every 9247294792749427 isn’t proof. Plus that 1 time was probably just a coincidence

No matter how much you want to win, or how good your intentions are people don’t listen

Yep. Not interested in playing regular randoms if the player base is like that in them.

This is the direct consequence of the “random BGs don’t matter” meme and is reinforced by Blizzard design decisions.

There were a couple bots too, so it was actually even fewer players.

And prioritize frequent deserters when filling in-progress bgs.

Everytime someone starts saying gg go next or something along those lines I start explaining how this is the exact reason why so many games are lost. If its not a blow out, you automatically give up.

I would say only about 10% of my games are actually hard fought, drawn out games that are fun because of it even if we lose. those matches are just fun in an of themselves.

I dont need honor. I havnt needed honor since like the first week of the expac and when i level an alt i can either make all my pvp gear or pvp before 70 and dig with a full set. Honor is meaningless and I just want to play the bg to play the bg.

People quitting cuz “more effecient to just go next” ruins the essence of what makes bgs fun.

Ive had a few bgs recently on my Aug where i was the 2nd or 3rd highest damage dealer for out team.

My best one was 8 mil damage…

Yeah, especially in those node BGs that drag to a loss, like Arathi or Gilneas.

They used to, at least more often than 1/100,000.

Which I guess wasn’t actually more common but there was just hundreds of thousands more players so now it’s just condensed stupidity.

I got you beat there. My personal best so far is 19mil damage done as 3rd highest. Man, that was a rough rando. I actually had a supposed “famous RBG leader” (named after a desert animal) and his group blindly kick my augie because I’m not doing enough damage or healing? Meanwhile his ret and mage were pumping thanks to my buffs… Go figure…

And can we all agree the mass reporting in bgs for people simply not agreeing with the status quo is bad for our BG community? Holy moly its rampant in there!
