All that stuff doesn’t work as well as you would think.
Take it from someone who plays the class 100% of the time.

Yes. They do.
Ele Shaman wouldn’t be one of the best arena classes if their utility wasn’t good.
Then that is a you problem. Not a shaman as a class problem.
There are days I am but unlike you I am self aware.
Yes that was the point. I gave my opinion on the shaman.
Really? Because I thought it was the heavy burst they do, but what do I know.
Wow asking for tips on shaman really brought out the hotheads
It’s entirely because of their incredible utility.
Most Eles barely even get to cast anything that isn’t instant cast in arenas. But yes, you’re right in that when they do get to cast they have insane damage.
Apparently a lot less than you think you do.
what content do you play bro? serious question
Cuz it appears you dont raid or arena
i guess purge WOULD seem useless if you’re just out in the world farming boars or something. Like “man this spell sucks”
So, examining your seriously stupid question… If it turns out I do, do arena, does that suddenly mean I know what I’m talking about?
The early game is not as good until you get both dual wield and stormstrike. Same with casting it is very slow as the lighting cast time reduction is a bit into the talent trees. More the pity because tbc was peak shaman with many players refusing to join unless they got their wf.
Yes, very much so.
You guys are extra stupid aren’t you
I hope you’re not trying to say that to me. I’ve been defending you this whole time.
How exactly is that defending me?
Because I didn’t say that to you. I quoted you in a reply to Aovona.
Mm
Fair, I’m tired. I’ll apologize for that one
My old main with mythic achieves? Yes.
Nobody cares. Did you replace your parry staff yet?
Uh… ok? I don’t think I ever argued this?
LMAO do you think your earth ele does anything in PvP? Absolutely braindead. You should be using tremor totem against warlocks. Your earth ele isn’t doing any tanking against other players. LMAO.
He does one H++ some days and spends the rest of his time in forum PvP.
And soon enough, I’ll never have to set foot in a + system again.
They’re all yours.
It’s going to be nice running Utgarde dungeons again without an icy slip n slide forming beneath my feet.
I don’t have much advice but I can say if you practice your rotations properly they are really fun to play and quite strong in keys, my mate is loving his and we are doing 18-20s with him at 410-415 ilvl and he is definitely not being carried dps wise, doing 100k overall without an aug evoker. Rotation and spreading flame shocks is important
Just a little follow-up; just got done doing arena…
I got my @$$ kicked tonight.
Now, if it’s me, then your bad logic doesn’t follow that our utility is this overpowered thing because then logic would follow that even a bad player like me wouldn’t need a high skill cap in order to make it work…
Meaning all of you that tried to say that our utility is some of the best out there are actually full of sh and don’t know what you’re talking about.
To do sham for leveling right. I have R1 Lightning bolt for pulling and do it as ench slow weapon MH, quick weapon OH, you want ancestral knowledge to gain attack power , you max out thundering strike, you want flurry maxed and elemental weapons, you go for DW which is not the 2h build, hence me saying the 2h advice is bad, cuz it is. You use Int gear for enh gives you more attack power, stack some int, cloth gear sometimes has more int than mail at the lower levels, that which is made for the priests, you want the DW build so that means not leveling with a 2h wep as you will not be leveling up your weapon skills as such. At 60 you will cap out at 300 weapon skill, 80 it is 400. Best done while leveling. Improved Stormstrike is a must. Mental quickness as well, some of your attack power will be added as spell power, to all of your melee yellow damage that you do, that treats all armour types equally and goes thru them, while your white damage from your auto attacks is not able to avoid the armour. So you want 2 1h weps for increased dps and faster hits as well, the 2h wep swings slower with bigger hits but shams have not benefited from 2h weps as much as from 2 1h weps for a while now at any level. You want maelstrom build as well and with 2 weps doing more swings, that give more of a chance of a proc than a single 2h wep does, you need procs while you level and gives a better chance for an instant cast on certain spells. Not points into improved ghostwolf as it has no real defense affects to you to use, the improved shields on that tier is better, you want points into elemental warding and devastation, and thats just get it started.
2 1h weps is better for enh in Wrath. Cuz of what I just said. Sham rage for big pulls to reduce dmg and to help with mana regain. Flametongue on both weapons for double the procs Stoneclaw totem is good to use for good def, Fire nova from the totem vs groups of enemies, Stormstrike with improved build, Earth shock whenever possible.
None of that there involves auto attacking until level 42. So when I said that was bad advice, I meant it. Keep water shield up for an added MP5. 3/3 MD gives 100% increase to attack power based on int. K? Now you could have at least have given some advice such as that as opposed to just insulting and trolling me here.
Me saying that auto attacking up until 42 being bad advice was bad advice. I just told you right there how it is done. Thats only part way. You coulndt even come close to figuring out the first half, you dont need the second half… it would be too much for you.
Points into Ancestral Knowledge directly effect your Mental Dexterity and so therefore will cause more DPS, the more you have. Having at least 3 is good. Dodge decreases DPS, as does parry, parry only stops 40% of incoming white damage and 0% of incoming yellow damage. You can have a critical block, but not a critical parry, dodge avoids 100%. Your shaman having more haste means more DPS on dots as they will tick faster. So will do more damage in lesser time, the dots tick with the very first cast so reapplying the dot can help to finish off low levels with more ease from range vs other instant casts.
Parry is mainly better for building aggros, as it is almost always followed with an auto physcal instant attack that you do not control, but that gets in the way of your GCD which is why it can lower your DPS to have too much of it. You don’t need a whole lot of it unless tanking. It helps to attack faster vs the counter attack and thats it. It resets your weapon swing CD which is the cause for the instant auto attack after. A white damage attack that can crit as well. But that is only an increase to auto attack added speed. Parry feeds of defense, not something you can do with no weapon, a broken weapon or disarmed. K? It will auto fill in for your next attack with white damage and take up the DPS where one of your own yellow damage attacks could take place.
Shams are not one that benefits from this.
Agi stacking helps your AP. And that only helps white damage. Shams are not one of the classes that gains AP from both strength and agi. The highest stat is chosen and it should be agi. Haste is better than AP. Armour pen only matters vs white damage. Spell pen is yellow dmg. Haste gives more ticks per dot while SP make the ticks more powerful.
But oh yea… Just auto attack with a 2h until level 42…yea just do that. Dont actually do stuff that makes your sham actually play better.
