its an add fight, cant just face tank all the adds, sheeps, fears, cyclones need to be used. need to watch treat on the healer also as they can intercept and 1 shot them. bloodfurnace is a hard heroic
The strategy for blood furnace heroic is to not tank the mobs. They have windfury and will oneshot a fully geared tank. You need to utilize CC bring a mage id say its almost mandatory.
I’ve tanked in every WoW and FF14 expansion, and I can confidently say that TBC is actually the most fun to tank in. Just because you’re averse to challenge doesn’t mean it’s objectively bad. If you just wanna brainlessly face tank mobs and not think critically, I think retail’s more your speed.
Pop a Free-Action Potion, keep them debuffed with Demo, rotate things like Feral Charge and Bash, and take your time killing the last one of a pack so people can regen/recover. A major problem that Tanks have in that room is that they are so desperate to keep them all together in the same place that they cause the mobs to all take a swing at the Tank at the same time, making you more akin to taking Patchwerk Hatefuls every 2ish sec rather than several smaller hits at a time.
Also note that they enrage when low on health so don’t just mindlessly AoE them all down, have DPS single target so you can avoid getting 1-shot by 4 empowered melee hits at the same time.
Welcome to TBC Tanking brother. We don’t get neat CC tools or self-sustaining Godlike status until Wrath at the earliest.
wahh it’s not fun please make tanking easy like retail -.-
Im super geared and can barely tank 3 of those mobs in my tankiest gear set. Going into BF H without hard cc is a waste of time. A warlock will be able to use howl of terror every set of mobs in the gauntlet and that alone + fear makes the gauntlet easy if executed properly. stuns go a very long way in clearing these out. This is the only part of BF H thats hard.
I have an easier time going into SHH H with no mage than I have going into BF H with no warlock.
It sounds like you’re not bored, but struggling to tank the instance. There is a difference
Drink free action potion and use pvp trinket, a lot more easier with mage in a group so they can sheep to help healer recover some mana back,
I made it with heavy CC group, but the healer was stressed out around 3rd and 4th wave. Definitely need to bring poly/fear
Heroic BF isn’t a joke, but tanking is in the best place in this game’s life. Threat AND survival are major factors, you can’t just faceroll abilities like during Wrath and beyond.
Have your warlock seduce one of the orcs each pull.
Rogues can also sap for over 40 seconds. Heroics are not for slapping your face on the keyboard and gliding through
My druid is taking a forum vacation right now, but I’m level 67 and absolutely loving tanking. I can’t wait for heroics. It’s not for the weak.
You and the dps need to kill adds. It’s not a tank and spank fight.
yeah but were you in bear form?
I did this just the other day for my trial.
Bad pull at start and bad pull partway through, but otherwise was gravy.
Mostly just the big packs. Without a mage its a little annoying trying to kite and they are not super fun to face tank.
This is a tactical fight. Everyone in the group must use EVERY single available skill/item/tricks to make sure incoming damage is as low as possible while keeping thinking logically about the next step.
Okay, which cc do you use? Which mob dies first, then which cc mob we deal next, then next, then next? And when the next set of mobs arrive, the group must be close enough to the next pack so that everyone can do it over again, not too close so that everyone gets murdered, but close enough so that the CC train can start again. Then, on the last mob, group pulls ALL the way as far as possible from where boss spawns and everyone does their best to regain as much mana as possible, whether it is by making cooldown timers on drinks run down, or other methods. If the pick up and CC is not quick enough, the healer is going to get murdered by the inc packs.
You need CC and heals need mana pots and everyone needs to use health pots. That part is the hardest part of any heroic dungeons. ALl the other heroics are cake.
Gross
Aren’t they in combat from the beginning of the wave? I’m surprised to hear that you can sap them.
