Truth be told

The game is nineteen years old does anyone actually believe the endless farming grinds for whatever your reasons are will ever change?.
The game is old and its tired so what does that mean? If you enjoy it play it,if you dont then stop. But for the love of whatever you believe in give up the notion its ever gonna get better. The joke is on us the player base as we are constantly misled by falsehoods from numerous sources as they profit from the content they put out.
Power of the purse is the only voice you have so let it speak the loudest and let it scream from the heavens we are done with it.

Why do you care what we do? The game is re-playable, just like many other awesome classic games. This is like my 9ths Warrior I’ve leveled to max over the years and I’m about to roll another. If its not for you, I get that and have fun, but don’t expect to change peoples minds about a game they love.

I’m cool with classic for the most part, I just feel each expansion should have its own set of pve, rp, and pvp servers. They have the money to support it coming in, and this would generate more profit.

I’ve been messing around with SOD and Era a lot the past month, and I think for me, a lot of the magic from vanilla was actually the grind itself.

Now, what do I mean by that? I don’t mean having to kill 20 boars for 4 boar flanks, though there’s some random chaotic magic in that. I mean having to run everywhere. I sound nuts probably, but not having a ton of flight paths is really exciting for me.

The other night on my alliance toon, I ran from SW to the tram to IF to Loch Modan, and had a blast chatting with my friends while doing so.

In retail, that magic is gone. A lot of the things they did to “fix” the game made it objectively worse to try to get the adhd cash from the newer generation. They forgot the people who made them a top tier company instead of just a company that makes great games.

WoW will never be perfect, nor should it be. The best we can hope for is that they give dedicated servers to each expansion’s ruleset and expansion area.

I gave up on a WoW 2 a couple of years ago anyway… Right around the time Shadowlands was hip.

That’s a huge part of it. Part of that vanilla magic is as you are playing it, its playing you - you don’t know that you’re grinding.

With some of the moves and innovations they made at the time, the devs masterfully balanced investment/effort vs reward (from the solo player to the end game raider) in a way that opened the door for way more people to get involved in the action while still making everyone earn everything they got.

In hindsight, it was a damn near perfect formula that hasn’t been replicated since (I still get stoked for my level 40 mount). Many have tried, all have failed, including Blizzard.

In any event, the OP is barking up the wrong tree here because whatever peoples reasons or motivations are to play don’t really matter. The game being old doesn’t matter. What the OP means by “get better” isn’t explained so it reads like a journal entry instead of any kind of insight. Perhaps some type of cathartic exercise.

why do you care what he cares about?

question should rather be, why does the OP care so much to waste their time posting an opinion that classic era players are unlikely to agree with.

after all, OP is stating the obvious. It’s repetitive content with the same raids, progression, gear etc

no kidding, but that’s not telling us anything we dont already know. Leave us era players in our own little bubble, we’re obviously happy being here!

Always.

I’m still grinning from ear to ear when I hit 40 even though SoD had mounts for the Ashenvale event sub-40. A+ to the devs for using the old school unarmored epic mount skins for this. They are slower than lvl40 mounts and only work in Ashenvale but still pretty cool.

Better than what?
People have been vocal about announcing departures when they wish to leave.
I believe players are aware that they control when the subscription ends and have no qualms about finding new, different games.

You talk about profiting from content so maybe this should be directed to the comments on the YT or stream that set you off? idk

No, I do not … and this is why I still love that game!

Just give a couple of Era servers for each expansion and leave us alone, thanks!
