True Deleted character restoration

Hello all.

I used to have a paladin that I played extensively in the Tol Barad realm, initially named Dalenin (possibly later changed to Bluhm). Over time, I deleted him to play on another server and eventually restored him, only to delete him again (at the time, I didn’t have much money and thought paying for services was impossible).

I believe this placed him on the list of characters that are no longer eligible for restoration. I would appreciate knowing if it is still possible to restore this character, even though he doesn’t appear on the restoration list, especially since other lower-level characters are still eligible for restoration.

It isn’t necessarily a list, per se. The data for that character is just purged once it meets a certain time metric if it’s under a different level metric.

Were they deleted after the Paladin in question?

This is not the case. I already talk with support, they send me here:

Hello, Rafael,

This is Game Master Smoehaates, and I will be assisting you today. Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment.

First off, hats off to you for being with us for almost a Decade and a Half. you are practically a legend in our community, it isn’t every day you meet such some one who has been there since the OG day, it is an honor.

I understand that you are missing a Paladin from the Pandaria period. I’m sorry that you have been through this experience. Let’s check that together, shall we?

Looking at this matter, I was unable to find any other characters with that class and either of those names as you mentioned. Hence, as much as I’d like to assist you with this matter, I’m afraid that this character might not be restorable.

I know this isn’t the response you were waiting for. Yet, we don’t have the option or the power to change that, but you know who would? You. Therefore, if you believe that this matter should have a different approach from the developers, I would highly recommend reporting this challenge on our tech forum, so that they can take into consideration for future updates and releases.

Also, any other players having similar requests will be able to support and comment on that suggestion, allowing it to reach our developers faster. You can report this challenge through this link: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/

I hope that I managed to clarify the situation for you. If you need assistance with anything else, feel free to reach me, I’ll always be there for you

Have an amazing adventure.

GM Smoehaates.

That’s an interesting development, indeed.

There is no forum available that fits this description, which is interesting. Tech Support is just the hardware version of Customer Support where you’ve posted, but neither of these forums have a connection to the developers.

Would any developer happen to have a copy of my paladin on a flash drive by any chance?

There’s no curated developer intervention on the forums. What your Game Master was saying was to create a suggestion thread that the developers create a feature to effect what you’re hoping for. It is now here in General Discussion to make those ripples.

Beyond expanding the existing server hardware to maybe delay the data decay, they’d have to figure out some other means of implementing it. They suggested you include any recommendations you might have for future implementation.

As of right now, that paladin is currently not available.

I forget what the official true death purge time is, but I know as long as the account stays active they’re never truly deleted. However, I have a second account I left inactive for almost 3 years before I reactivated it, and realized that I still had the characters I left, but I was missing all of the ones that had been deleted and could not be restored .

If the character isn’t there to restore, then it’s gone.

If a character doesn’t appear on your list, it means it was purged from the database because it was below level 50 and it was deleted too long ago. Purged characters cannot be restored by any means.

Is this a throwback to the times where people used the recycle bin on the desktop as a regular folder? And then panic when the system decides to actually recycle?
