After seeing a profile that had several racial slurs in almost every section I decided to report it using the build in report function of the addon. I provided the name of the player and even a screenshot, but all I got was ‘‘Sorry, we can’t do anything with this because it’s based off an addon and we don’t have access to it.’’
I have already seen other troll profiles that I had liked to report but after this, I didn’t bother reporting.
Now I’m wondering if anyone has gotten a successful response where Blizzard actually -did- take action.

Part of the problem is that because an addon is hooking your client and basically sending all this info for you, there theoretically isn’t anything at all stopping a malicious addon from falsifying these messages to incriminate someone. Nor is this a wildly unrealistic possibility. I could tell you how someone could do that right now, but y’know… It’s easier than you might think, so I probably shouldn’t. Blizzard can see what the addon is telling them, but it is not a “secure” channel like the base chat is. If you type something in the base chat, I imagine Blizzard can tell you typed it, and that it wasn’t an addon. They can definitely prove you’re responsible for that message.
Perhaps in the future we’ll see them lock down their policies a bit, but for right now weird esoteric stuff like that and the fact that TRP3’s maker implemented that functionality without technically getting Blizzard’s approval for the idea of them moderating profiles in the first place is probably the reason it’s sorta useless right now.
