Question about the Total Roleplay 3 add on…it has always kind of bummed me out that you can’t see TRP3 profiles from the opposing faction. Does anyone know if this is because the creator of the add on made it that way or because Blizzard blocked it from happening. I’m trying to figure out who to appeal to on this issue
It’s an API limitation. You can’t share data cross-faction.

Should be able to proxy this data to a 3rd party website or web service and use that for automated data sharing.
This goes way beyond my level of tech understanding, but if the add on were to do that, any idea if that would violate terms of service?
Wowhead add on for example works the same way. Wow parsing does as well. It uses a program to upload from an add on.
This would simply be the same.

I’m going to guess yeah it would be against tos. Nothing would stop you from making a direct in game comm addon if it wasnt. Which i think would already exist because it would relatively easy.
No it would not. As mentioned, addons do this already.
But are they used to facilitate direct cross faction communication.
you can just skip all that and add them to battnet friends and send tell anyway.
