Troubles with whisper window

When messaging friends who are battle net battle tag friends or real ID friends, my whispers only show in the general tab of chat in WoW.

When I open the whisper tab between myself and my friend, it’s empty, however the chat with my friend can be visible in the general tab mixed in the middle of all the other chat channels.

To avoid confusion on this description. My whispers are being sent to my friend, but my whispers are not being filtered to the whisper tab between myself and my friend.

This issue only happens with the green/blue colored chat used for battle.net friends.

Normal pink colored whispers can still be filtered to separate tabs.

I have already tried:
Resetting my WoW UI and playing with 0 addons
/reset chat
/console CVar_default
scan and repair
closing the battle net app in the background (possible interference with the social tab in the app?)

I was tempted to reinstall my game, but my friend mentioned the same issue was happening to them as well.

Same problem as well. I can put someone in a Whisper window, but no text appears there.

I am experiencing the same problem. Even without any add-ons, I have the option to “Move to Whisper Window,” but when I do it creates that new window and all the whispers still remain in my General chat tab.

I was having this same problem. I went in game to Interface>Social, all the way at the bottom on the left you’ll see “new whispers” with a drop down box . Set it to New Tab, In-Line, or Both. Hope this works for everyone!

Open up your interface, go to social, set the New Whispers to “Inline” should solve your issue. ty
