Trouble with add-ons

Total beginner here…

I downloaded the twitch app to my desktop, downloaded several add-ons but am completely lost where to go from there. I though there would be an option in game to turn them on. Not sure if I need to find specific add-ons that are for classic or what? Any help would be great!

I do not use the app at all, so I cannot help on that side, but I’ll answer a couple things:

Yes, the addons do need to be specifically for WOW Classic. If you’re getting them manually, you have to check which version it says they are for. An app should have a way of designating which version they’re for, and knowing to put them in the right place.

Addons get turned on ‘automatically’ as long as they’re loaded into the right folder. When you run WOW there will be an Addons button in the lower left of the character select screen if you did it right. An app is supposed to handle that part for you, but could mess up under some circumstances. Wrong version, path changed, stuff like that can mess it up.

WOW is installed on your computer in a path which can be changed, but the portion that matters is this:

…\World of Warcraft\_classic_\interface\addons\

If you can find that World of Warcraft folder, look in addons and see if you see folders with names similar to what you believe you downloaded.

In the Twitch app, under Mods, you should see World of Warcraft. Click on WoW. If it recognized that you have both retial and classic installed there will be a pulldown on the right where you can select either Classic or Retail.

P.S. Most of the classic addons have Classic as part of the name.
