I recently heard about some players trolling by intentionally bricking other peoples +20 and higher keys, and even about some guy who was supposedly bricking streamers high keys cuz he thought it would be funny; I thought to myself “nah, ain’t no way someone would be that much of a loser”…but I guess I forgot what planet I live on Just had a spriest dip out on my +22 Bracken for no reason at all. The run was going well, even though his dps was a little on the low side, we were making good time going into tree area, there was no raging, no arguing…doesn’t say a word and just dips mid giant pull. I don’t even feel like doing dungeons anymore tbh, these last 2 seasons have been
as it is, without nonsense like this going on.
I feel like this has been a thing since the advent of M+.
Don’t run +20s with strangers. There you go, problem solved. You’re welcome, no fee today.
Maybe something came up? I think I’ve only had like 2 leavers this season and the most recent one was just like 2 minutes into a Nelth’s lair for seemingly no reason. Bizarre.
That’s really not a solution. Most people end up pugging at least 1 or 2 players for keys, because not everyone has a full premade they run with, or can run with all the time (irl responsibilities and such). What would actually be a solution is Blizz perma-banning people like that.
It really is. You’re welcome again.
Usually if something comes up and they have to go they will say that in chat, and I don’t get salty about those b/c stuff happens sometimes.
A random person left randomly in a random key, therefor there is a conspiracy of trolls ruining keys for their own amusement that is making you not want to run dungeons at all.
Is that what you’re saying?
lol
How would you moderate something like that?
It’s really easy. They just have to read their mind and ban the people trolling and do nothing to the people that left because their cat was on fire.
That’s not what I’m saying. Did you even read the post? I said I’ve been hearing other people talking about seeing this stuff in their own keys this season more often, and since it’s not just my one-off experience, it might actually be a thing.
So you came here to be outraged without even really knowing what’s going on or experiencing the outrage you wanted to troll about?
It’s absolutely a solution. As was once again pointed out to me in another thread: pugging is toxic.
I could see a case for people who join and leave immediately again and again but in general it’d be hard to really do it reasonably.
if people wanted to brick, they would leave as soon as the key started. Why even do a boss?

That’s really not a solution.
You not liking it as a solution doesn’t take away from the fact that it works.

doesn’t say a word and just dips mid giant pull
I don’t think this is a guy just intentionally trolling? Probably just had to go or didn’t feel like playing anymore.
Which, sure: he should communicate.
But why would he play a key normally and waste like 20 minutes? If the guy wants to brick the key he’ll just dip at the start.
Time for punishment for trolls like this including key leavers, which is just another form of trolling.
Block him and never see him again? Seems like an easy solution.

pugging is toxic.
I will say, one way to moderate the whole issue of determining when someone is leaving because they need to, or leaving because they can, is to exclude the pug factor.
A guildy, you can question post-run…
You: “Yo, Beefpeeper, why did you leave this run?”
Beefpeeper: “I am sorry dear friend, I had to attend to an emergency squirrel funeral.”
You: “Yo, Beefpeeper, why did you leave this run?”
Beefpeeper: “Because you suck and I hate you and your face is dumb.”
And then you can actually decide what to do in that case.
