And its becoming hard for me because I want to make every character I have a troll, pandaren(anicent enemy of trolls) or a vulpera(cultural friend of trolls)
Like, its hard for me to even make pandaren or vulpera now, I just want to hit trolls and their voodoo mogs so hard everytime I play.
They are just the apex of cool for me in this game.

Trolls are pretty good. They got a lot out of BfA.

Personally, I prefer Draenei lore to all others. That said, I can appreciate the appeal of troll lore.
Being one of the oldest races on Azeroth really helps them in the lore department, and I like the idea that the Zandalari and others are trying to rebuild an ancient empire, rather than forge a new one.

Even though they have a long history of being dunked on mostly by elves and humans, I agree. If not the best lore, they certainly have one of the coolest cultures and easily my favorite religion in WoW.

They were the only race on azeroth to beat back the faceless but it cost them their grip on the world, its tragic and awesome how ruthlessly they pursued the old god’s armies.

It’d be neat if the Bronze flight showed us those events like they did with the War of the Ancients.

This is why I hate Uldir so much, instead of yet another Titan Facility They should add Zandalari Academy with chroniclers, scholars and Arcanitals where we could have our own Caverns of Time encounters to witness troll history that was not covered in-game.
Like having Raid about Aquir Wars, and dungeons where we assist trolls against their fight with elves and humans where we see Trolls PoV.
Maybe it wouldn’t have much of gain in-universe other than impressing Zandalari, but it would much more valuable content than Another Titan stuff that became super uninportant soonish after.

They’d need a reason for Alliance to do the raid as well, but a Caverns of Time-esque Troll Wars raid where your faction determined which side you were on would have been neat.

Zul’Farrak was created to oversee the Aquir activity, and they kept their vigil for thousands of years.
And we the players raided them for shinies
Bran and explorers league to get a dive into troll history? Or something like “In order to fight the enemy we have to know them better”? kinda thing.
Alliance didn’t have much involvement with Uldir either.

Trolls are cool enough that I sometimes wish they had their own faction separate from the rest of the Horde. It kind of feels like the rest of the Horde is dragging them down sometimes… especially in the case of the Darkspear.

Trolls are largely xenophobic with the exception being the darkspear.
The zandalari are a work in progress and was only possible due to talanji.
One little thing I did used to like about trolls was how they were supposedly a 100% natural occurrence in the game world, instead of being modified by some sort of external power or person. So them being homegrown and still keeping up had a bit of appeal to it.
I think one of the Chronicles books changed it so that all life was influenced by the well of eternity, and trolls simply just didn’t get enough of it compared to other races. And I know the difference is largely academic, but meh. It kinda killed off that little spark it had for me. At least the hadoken cast animation is neat, though.

Trolls are the whole reason I really started playing WoW and honestly one of the most unique things in the setting. BfA brought so much new Troll lore and better characterization than I ever thought they’d get to the point where I personally rather enjoyed BfA. There were other reasons, but that was a big one.
My one wish for Shadowlands would have including the Other Size into a proper zone, or having a more general Spirit World covenant for various loa and shamanic ancestors to dwell in. But that ship’s come and gone, it seems.

Trolls still seem to be a mutation of life that was not designed or intended at all.

Yes… thats the point. The trolls were never titan constructs.

The Halls of Origination activated once before didn’t they? I recall them saying in one of the BfA story things there that the reorigination protocol had successfully cleaned Azeroth off last time. If so, from whence have Trolls come?
The Trolls could be cool. But for that they need a big victory against any of their old enemies. Like night elves, high elves and humans. But sadly these races are protected by plot armor so it is not likley that they will ever claim any victory here. But I agree with the OP. Trolls are my favorite race aswell.
I am not sure if this is accurate, but is Troll lore the most concrete lore to date? Races like Night Elves, Tauren, and perhaps many others got retconned. While Trolls really never got retconned. That’s the one thing I find interesting of their lore, seems to hold up and avoid retcons.
Troll lore also has unanswered questions and the lore itself poses questions about how Amani and other trolls learned arcane when elves and humans seemed to have a monopoly over it.
They list scattered mages from dalaran to zandalari as possibilities.
There is no definitive answer but the bits and pieces have shown they have had enchantments stronger then that of elves.
