There coulda been a better way of doing the promotion. put a code in the bag or something.

I think it has to do with weird laws in the US, particularly involving sweepstakes. There was an Oreo promotion a year or two ago for Sea of Thieves cosmetics that couldn’t be done in the US presumably because of some sort of legal issue.
Depending on the promotion, it might not be legal for the codes to be included inside the packaging, so companies these days usually do the receipt snapshot thing instead as usually the only other legal option is putting the code on the outside of the packaging.

I don’t know the exact reasons why they may or may not put codes inside packaging, to be honest.
I am fairly certain that codes were in fact included inside packaging at one time but is generally not done much, if at all, anymore. I think I’ve seen legal reasons brought up as an explanation before, but it’s hard to find a reliable answer to the question as to why codes generally aren’t included inside packaging in the US.

I dunno, maybe because people bought every promo product and put it back on ebay for huge profits. Now they want to demand proof you got it from a store or something. Though if you got two items due to more than one account in the same household, I am not sure how they handle that if it is on the same receipt?
At any rate, Trolli has not even updated their website to honor the promotion, so maybe no one will get the pet considering that there are people on other sites stating they did not get their in game content for other games yet. I don’t like paying for candy I can’t eat for a pet that is just to expand a collection and will not even see a pet battle unless it has OP moves.
Blizzard expects us to buy candy? What if we can’t afford candy???

You can’t share receipt pics. They validate the barcode on your receipt and log it so it can’t be used again. It’s like the fetch app. If you think about it, this was the best possible route to take. It guarantees the product gets purchased. If they hada code in the bag then those could easily be stolen and then sold to players.
I get a 10% discount for working retail it was under $2 for me for a small bag.
I love gummy worms I was disappointed they weren’t as sour as I expected.

Has anyone had any luck with this yet? I bought some for myself and friends (with separate receipts) and the website hasn’t updated since they announced. It was supposed to go live yesterday 
I don’t even like this kind of candy so I bought exclusively for the pet.

I have the package with Thrall on it and receipt. Maybe Trolli backed out of it?
Their website a few days ago showed the advertainment, for me being a procrastinator I decided to do it today.
Put the info in last night when the website updated and got the pet this morning
I sent the receipt it but recieved no response after submission recieved does it come from another email address?
I don’t think it falls into a sweepstakes category though considering it’s simply a part of the product you are buying and not a random chance to win something?

It took about a day between submission and acceptance. It took a few hours between redeeming and receiving the third email with the game code. The confirmation code on the web site is not the game code.
Support email is trolligaminghelp@snippmedia.com in case you have any issues (they make a point to say that neither Blizzard nor Microsoft endorses or sponsors this promotion). I didn’t annotate my receipt and the print job wasn’t great but it was still accepted. I did run it as a single item separate receipt though.
