how significant is the health regen of troll during combat compared to the 5% pet damage for hunter? I am torn between the two races. Leaning toward pet damage though.
In terms of living through a disconnect, the 5% pet dmg might mean your pet kills the mob before you can log back on, but would the health regen save you as well?
trolls have a 10% increased rate of health regeneration, and 10% of their health regeneration continues during combat.
This is a % of your normal regen. In other words, if you don’t stack spirit for good regen out of combat, your health regen from this skill will be next to nothing. The regen in combat will be miniscule unless you have so much spirit that 10% of your normal health regen actually matters.
That being said, there will probably still be a time when you walk away from a fight with only 1 or 2 life points left, and you will thank troll regen for that.
Orc is still better choice for hunter imo.

Agree on troll for horde. I was debating on ne or dwarf for ally. If I make an ally hunter, it will probably be ne.

The increased pet damage? I would have to investigate to see how much that really counts for. With BM your pet becomes a monster on a leash anyways. I think the regen with troll outweighs the orc racials.
Wrong on all accounts. BIS is not dying. The rest is not making stupid plays. As tbh, from experience 3 times… HC is not hard. Just takes some getting use to. Really should not matter the slight advantage each has…
I made an orc just to stand out from the gazillion trolls–no regrets so far.
I went with Orc. Trolls seem pretty attractive early game with their regen, exp gain and bow specialization. However, the pet damage and stun resist if you go BM are better once you get to the 20’s/30s. Troll picks up at the end if you plan on raiding though slightly, but since I don’t and am going BM Orc is the way.
