I’m not sure what the lore limitations are regarding troll demon hunters. I really dislike blood elves and night elves, would troll demon hunters ever be a possibility?
Troll Demon Hunters would not be a possibility because only Elves are limited to being a Demon Hunter for primarily lore reasons. I don’t ever want to see a Gnome Demon Hunter, that wouldn’t make sense at all. ya’know?

Once again my lack of lore knowledge here but aren’t trolls basically elves? If they did troll DH they could do Void Elf DH too then balance it out faction wise. Idk I’m just hoping for some more choice because I’d like to give the class a spin but the current race choices are just so lame to me, I’m sure there have to be some others in the same boat. Or I might be the only person who doesn’t like blood elves lol.

Oh, man…I would so quickly race change to Panda Demon Hunter. Can you imagine a fat, bumbling panda demonhunter? In the leather strappy gear, with the panda belly bouncing around during eyebeam and blade dance! It would be glorious!

All DHs are all Illidari. Illidan trained Night Elves and Blood Elves, but no other races. Unless Shivarra or Naga become playable.
What would be really cool is that if you wanted to put something in game that would allow you to transition and train to be a different class. It could be like a respec system that could cost gold or IRL money, and also include a series of quests. Blizzard could still make money off of it, but also add something new to the game with the series of quests, with possibly one set of tmog with it. Any thoughts on that? This could also include classes that want to learn to become a Demon Hunter, or something like that so their could be some lore behind a Human wanting to become a DH. Thoughts on that?

I like that, I do like that classes are race specific however with the current state of the game I don’t think it would break the feel of anything, might even add some RPG elements back into the game where playing as a troll DH that used to be a Hunter might have some more in-depth role playing elements. Would certainly add some much needed agency.

Elves are trolls that were “cleansed” by the Well of Eternity.
Lorewise, elves might be the only mortal race that can deal with imperfect fel assimilation due to their long time exposure to magic via moon and sun wells. Even so, the fel energy has proven to consume many of the Illidari initiates causing insanity or even death.
Regarding Eredar being a potential match for fel energy, the demonic Eredar received direct change from Sargeras himself, so they might not be able to contain the imperfect DH infusion.

There’s a couple options here.
Zandalari trolls would actually be a viable candidate for DHs for both lore and game reasons. Demoniacs are Zandalari warlocks who absorb demon souls within themselves to gain physical and magical power, and it’s even stated by the wiki that their methods are reminiscent of the Illidari. It would be completely feasible for them to sort’ve pool their knowledge with the Illidari in exchange for training. Male Zandalari also share the night elf skeleton, leaving less animation work to be done.
As for Alliance I think void elves would be the equivalent race, however a bit of lore bending would be required as there’s a weird new precedent that void and fel don’t mix. It’s a strange development since shadow and fel have long been considered to be similar schools of magic, but I digress. If Zandalari demon hunters would be added void elves would be their equivalent.
Aside from races we already have? They could implement fel orc/broken allied races, which were both a part of the Illidari and would fit nicely as orc/draenei races. However, as we’ve already received mag’har and lightforged the likelihood of us getting those allied races is unfortunately low.
I’m still holding out for Zandalari demoniac demon hunters.

There isn’t a lore reason why other races couldn’t be demon hunters in theory.
It’s limited to only Night and Blood Elves because those were the only ones Illidan trained. All Demon Hunters were trained by Illidan or his officers.
The DH story basically had you chilling in Outland while Vanilla was going on. Then during BC you and the other demon hunter assaulted a legion world and came back shortly after Illidan’s death. You were then captured and imprisoned by the Wardens until Legion pre-patch.
The Illidari could in theory train more demon hunters but why would they. They more than anyone know how tenuous the line between controlling the fel and succumbing to it is. With the legions defeat their vengeance and reason to exist is complete. It’s unlikely that the Illidari would even want to train new demon hunters except if there was distinct possibilities or the legion returning.

Man, can you imagine the salt if Blizzard had actually turned off the ability to create new DHs in 8.0? Oh, that would have been glorious…

Unlikely.
Especially looking at the DK intro questline.
They added new races for DK, which made sense, because those races existed at the time on Azeroth and could very well have been killed by the scourge, but it would be extremely difficult to explain Illidan’s gnome disciples.
