So I feel like most classes don’t really translate too well into trolls. It seems every major troll (darkspear) npc is either a shadow hunter or witch doctor, with some exception of course. You never see troll druids or mages running around. What’s the deal with that? What is a troll druid then? Would they work with the cenarion circle?
Zen’tabra is the original Darkspear Druid, and probably their most prominent. Reading up on her should answer most of your questions.
Zen’kiki is probably the second most memorable. He doesn’t do alot storywise, but he’s CC trained and loyal, and pops up from time to time.
Zandalari are kind of all over the place. Most seem to be adherents of Gonk. Some are Lun’alai. Some might even be some sort of dinomancer.
Thank you I definitely will because I’ve been curious about darkspear druids
If not druids or monks. These characters can be described as Primalist
They aren’t named NPCs but there are plenty of Zandalari mages in Dazar’alor. They are typically dubbed as ‘Arcanitals’ and make up the bulk of Zandalari nobility like the Highborne in pre-sundering Night Elf society. They are the sect that preserves troll history and knowledge. I don’t think Darkspear mages are as prevalent in-game as NPCs though.
On the topic of Zandalari trolls you cannot forget to mention the paladins, AKA the Prelates. It is arguable they were paladining it up before even humans came up with the concept.
When it comes to darkspear trolls they were guided to the circle and have been taught Kaldorei-style Druidism, which can be seen as an IC reasoning of why they use the same forms that everyone else the Kaldorei taught use, unlike the Zandalari who have a distinct tradition of dinomancy-style druidism.
So troll druids have no connection to shadow hunters or witch doctors, other than form witch doctors becoming druids?
When it comes to Darkspear, yes. In terms of Zen’tabra and friends, they were originally Witch Doctor’s before they heard the call of the Emerald Dream. Any Darkspear that were trained by her afterwards were/are just considered druids and not witch doctor’s that I’m aware of.
