So, I took Triune Ward as my legendary (for now). I feel especially squishy as a mage, and it certainly does seem to be making a difference. It also looks cool.
But I also got Arcane Bombardment last night, and I’m wondering how much better that might be in the long run. How much better I’ll have to get to be able to take advantage of it.
Also, what happens if I choose the Triune Ward power in Torghast when I already have the Lego for it? Do I get double shields? Because that, especially with 2 +70% absorption (which I had last night) would be awesome.
If you’re using Triune for anything other than PvP, Torg or maybe the Maw it’s a waste. It will severely gimp you in M+ and raids. And yes in Torg if you have triune equipped and get the power the drop it just adds more to your shields. I’m not sure if it is in fact doubled though, could be 65%-100%

I run Triune in Torghast. To me is it useful for speed running it cause you can run away from mobs while absorbing hits and go directly to the floor boss. I also have it to tank big pulls for combustion if I am fire.
If I am looking to clear floors, an offensive leggo like Arcane Bombardment would be a better choice. I mess around with different leggos and Torghast is a good place for that.
I don’t know the answer to your last question cause I have never picked the Triune option when I had it already equipped as a leggo.

I’m using it for open world adventuring. I probably will build an Arcane Bombardment legendary for Mythic+/Raiding if I ever get there, but I’m (finally) starting to concentrate on another character for that.
So it turns out that the Triune power with the Triune legendary does indeed double your shields.
I recommend also getting the +70% shield bonus powers for that wonderful feeling of invincibility.

In relation to the original topic, how does triune ward interact with diverted energy? does that mean that each shield will heal 20%, for a total of 60%?
When absorbtion effects are stacked on top of each other, only one of them absorbs damage at a time. Once one of the shields is broken, damage will carry over to the next shield.
