I finally ended up getting an Eye of Skovald, after 70 runs of that dungeon. Second time that I can recall it dropping this expansion in a party I was in. It wasn’t even the one I was after, which I’ve literally never seen drop, not even back in Legion.
I also remember getting the Dark Shaman set before ever seeing the trinket drop from that fight for my enhance shaman back in the day. Trinkets gotta be my most hated slot in this game to farm for.
But, I’m sure someone has a worse story here, right? Let’s hear it.
My DH never saw Pox drop in Plaguefall. Ever. And then our DH tank got one and couldn’t trade it (it’s still in his bank he says) and it was the only one I ever saw drop. 100s of PF runs.
I never got the axe to drop in SD either. It was actually so maddening that I ended up quitting for a few months. I came back and ran a Tazavesh and got the sword first run. Well, actually the first thing I did was do a mount run for Al’ar and that dropped too. My secret is just take a break and come back and it throws you a bone.
I got the Whispering Incarnate Icon on my Warlock out of the Timewalking weekly last week, felt good. On this guy I haven’t been so lucky, rocking a Darkmoon deck atm and that fishing frenzy wq trinket
Something similar happened to me last expansion. Basically my mage was my main but my paladin got so many insane, BiS drops from the Vault that, one day, he was better geared than my mage… so I just played paladin…
First was anger followed immediately by depression thinking id never get it.
Secondly denial thinking id get it soon enough.
Then came Bargaining where id try to bribe the raid leader to reserve it for me ( bless his stout heart for denying me )
Then came acceptance knowing i was cursed to never see that trinket.
I guess I should consider myself lucky. I was after the eye and finally got it to drop weeks ago but haven’t seen it drop since then. Got lucky with a rage feather in my vault as well. I hate on use trinkets. I always try to get the auto fire trinkets. I don’t care if they aren’t the best sim wise.
I like collecting transmog so I have three paladins. Yes it’s a sickness.
During Shadowlands S1 I ran De Other Side on mythic or higher 48 times. No scale.
Like week 1 or 2 of Shadowlands S2 I’m farming something on one of the mog paladins and I get invited to a random 2 in guild. Ran it on the mog paladin, logged off, didn’t think much of it.
Next Tuesday they had a blood spattered scale waiting for them in the vault. It even procced a tertiary stat. Mog paladin became main paladin for the rest of the expansion.
I am more of an M+ guy. But I am fascinated with the Raz Bow on Vault Raid. So I did Normal Raid. I pushed until I could get thru Raz. It would take a while to get a Raz bow. I would need multiple attempts just to get a chance to have it.
Raz bow is just ilevel 395 in Normal. In order for me to stop looking for it, I upgraded my M+ Range weapon to ilevel 408 thru Valor. There, I fixed my problem.
Even if it is temporary, at least I dont crave for Normal Raid Raz bow anymore. Soon, I would start craving for HEROIC RAID RAZ BOW at ilevel 411. Let’s see, how I would handle it.
The only worst story I have is that I never can get the coveted raid trinkets. It was so nice when they did their little SL season 4 experiment, but here I sit again hope fading for the brood or whispering trinkets. Then again I have decent luck in targeting dungeon trinkets and perform just fine with those.
