Trinket Tuning Incoming - August 26

Ahead of the weekly reset and players choosing from the Great Vault, we’ll make the following adjustments to trinkets that are outside of our performance targets:

Items

  • Screams of a Forgotten Sky - On-death damage increased by 15%.
  • Perfidious Projector - Damage increased by 10%.
  • Naazindhri’s Mystic Lash - Damage increased by 15%.
  • Astral Antenna - Critical Strike reduced by 3%.
  • Gigazap’s Zap-Cap - Damage increased by 15%. Internal cooldown reduced to 0.5 seconds (was 0.75 seconds).
  • First Class Healing Distributor - Healing increased by 20%.
  • So’leah’s Secret Technique - Buff duration increased to 1 hour.

We intend for this the last round of trinket tuning for Season 3, unless something unexpected occurs.

Wonder if this changes anyones bis or preferred dungeon…

Not the tuning I expected post RWF, but I’ll take the buff extension for my Secret Technique!

We do not care. Post the class tuning.

How about some character customization tuning.

Probably won’t be much, buffs to classes like boomy, fire, fury, but that’ll be it

Overall tuning is pretty decent

I care. this is important information.

Seriously, where are the 1.5m trinkets…

You’re intentionally trolling with Antenna’s “Nerf”: make a simple-AF stat stick that has theoretically and practically 30% more secondary stats than other stat sticks do, not change it throughout the whole PTR to Pre-Raid period, then nerf it by a “whooping” 3% after the Race, mocking those who don’t want Crit, prefer more interesting trinkets, or didn’t get it.

please kindly remove the weird channel of the cursed idol

What about a class tuning pass? Some specs like Unholy would need some extra love so its comparable to Frost.

it’s probably still 2x bis trinkets from raid and whatever is in m+ only to hold you until you get those.

i got the best trinkets i can get from m+ chest and the 2 passive raid ones are still +~50k each on the sim.

I was hoping you would remove all the nonsense “on-use” abilities for trinkets that seemed a bit “extra,” this xpac, but alas, no.

How about you actually give us a chance to get the trinket before nerfing it? Stop nerfing my trinkets!

Really? The difference between top and bottom is ~20%. That’s not even remotely what I would consider “pretty decent”.

TECHNICALLY you have Netherprism which is like a 3 or 4.5 minute trinket.

And then there’s Cursed Stone Idol which is absolutely bonkers.

At 90 percentile, it’s more like 16%. buff up the bottom 5 or so slightly maybe smack destro slightly and it’ll be 10% which is about the best you can ask for

And that % is likely more like 10% now because of the way the best players play

If you pick and choose the data, you can make the data look anyway you like. But the difference between the highest possible DPS of the specs at the top and bottom is 18.98%.

What we can see from logs, however, is that certain specs are in dire need of tuning or bug fixes.

Balance Druid, Frost Mage and BM Hunter are the worst performing specs in raid.
Balance is doing fine in M+, but Frost Mage and BM Hunter are at the bottom.

I don’t play Mage, so no clue what they need. BM needs bug fixes and a buff to the 4pc. It’s crazy that they nerfed last season’s 2pc by 50% and 2/2 is still stronger than 4pc in Season 3 until a certain item level. Also, the gap between the two hero trees is MASSIVE. It’s mind-boggling how bad Dark Ranger is for BM and not a chirp from Blizzard about it.
