since BM hunter was in the dumps I went ahead and leveled a Destro Warlock, Frost Mage and a Shadow Priest to 70 using the giga busted 379 gear (before it was nerfed)
The amount of damage lost from moving was the absolutely insane coming from a BM hunter, having to track DOTs and basically being an immobile turret on SPriest, just absolutely gross … not even mentioning being 100% reliant on shadowcrash for pulls in heroics and low M+.
Then going to Warlock doing the ROF/Green Meanie build and the Chaos bolt lazy build… same issues, if not even worse… dodge tons of stuff, cast when you can, chase after tank (much easier than SPriest tho since you didn’t have all of your damage reliant on a single ability start every fight)
I didn’t even try to run frost mage through any stuff … figured it would be pretty much the same. I purple and orange parse on hunter in raid and full 99s in M+
How in the world can you RDPS stomach all the mechanics going out and still enjoy playing this game
I have an enhancement shaman and ret paladin at 415 ilvl from 10.0 i decided to run through some +10-15s, absolutely crushed the meters with zero issues compared to the nightmare playing those other alts
I played Black mage, monk and Bard in FFXIV… cleared all but the most recent ultimate fights… those dances make sense
WOW seems to just make screen clutter and “bullet hell” swirlies with no clear indication of effect radius/range as their meter for artifically increasing difficulty, on top of countless “MUST INTERRUPT” abilities coming from the huge increase in trash density this xpac
I joke all the time about how most WoW content is designed by devs who only play hunters; there’s just something about things that are anti-melee alongside things that make you move around that seems biased.
It does keep caster RDPS down, which I imagine may be the point.
A caster dps that could just stand still with a stable and not erratic tank is going to max top, probably.
Honestly, in regards to WoW, you know far more than I do. I have little interest in M+, and I have only participated in a single raid finder raid, which was also the very first part of the very first raid.
WoW dungeons and raids just does not excite me enough to make it the endgame for me anymore.
Its simple, you dont. As sp you just wait for devs to start reworking the spec - so you can give a feedback on all of the issues you mentioned - crash, mobility etc.
Then you have to repeat that feedback aproximately 7-8 billion times to the point when you do feel like a spamming idiot on ptr forums.
Next step is to watch developers completely ignore all that feedback and “rework” the class to the point where it is even more bolted to the ground and have to cast infinetely more.
thats absolutely wild … I have zero experience outside of working on getting the priority and rotation down on the target dummies and speed leveling through dungeons with the squad
If i noticed those issues having never played this class before in like the first couple of dungeons, its unbelievable that this is the “rework” they went ahead and shipped
BM hunter may have its issues, but despite not having burst, it plays fine and despite community perception does have good nuance and is more than capable of doing all but the highest of keys
After switching my main from hunter to to warrior in SL. I can def say range has it alot easier than melee. Playing range you can actually see the mechanics.
I mean I did run 2 other vastly superior ranged classes, there wasn’t any point to running the mage… BM hunter can do as much if not more than mage can with infinitely less trouble w/o having to worry about “aM I StAnDinG in Rune oF PoWeR”
so yeah there was no point in running mage
Yeah thats for sure, as BM or even MM i can see everything and am able to freely move instead of the information overload that blizz is designing content with now
Well, Shadow and Destruction at least won’t get full value out of large short pulls (like in low keys or heroics). You need pulls to last a minimum amount of time, which doesn’t really happen (for me at least), until about +20s.
frost is decent, you almost all the time either using instant casts or you have high cast speed with icy veins
How arcane and fire play - i don’t know. Hardcasting pyroblast is awful, and arcane loses all dps if you make one mistake in your 15 button preparation combo
