7 years of old piled up content will do that.
A majority of that is just leveling though, and some grinds you can just unsync and get it done with in minutes.
There are some hellgrinds but they aren’t worth the time/effort put in if you ask me. Ishgard Restoration and Hunts can suck it.
I tried FF14 five times over the years. I have never figure out what the appeal for the game. Not one of my friends, families or doctors I go to that play mmo can stand that game. It just too much like Maple for me. MMO games are big in my little town. Not many play FF14 except for kids 8-12. What is so good about the game. Its too boring for me.
You are just too old and/or not open-minded enough.
There is a thing, especially for MMOs, that makes familiarity and knowledge rein us in. People like being comfortable, and because most people are “masters” at WoW, even the thought of moving away from WoW and to other, totally unknown waters is way too scary.
People who are generally good at games, and more open-minded, however, are far more likely to enjoy other games than what one is used to, as they usually learn rather quickly.
Indeed, more adults play World of Warcraft, I think I heard somewhere that the most common ages are 30+ many younger people do not find WoW entertaining in this day and age because it is old fashioned and generally just bad and have been bad for a longer period of time. Meanwhile we have the 30+ year olds who are stuck in the loop of familiarty after many years of playing only WoW, it is nostalgia and comfort rather than entertainment which keeps them. It is not that there is a lack of other good MMORPGs, it is just that they dare not lose what they are familiar with.
FF14 just not appealing to people around me. That is why I trying to get other opinions and ideas on what is so great about the game.

Please explain if I’m old or narrow-minded, then why I have tried it 5 times and still find no appeal. It is not just me. FF14 is really not popular here in my town. We have 4 MMO/Shooting game bars in town. FF14 just does not seem appealing and is the reason why I asked in the first place.
I play so many different styles/types of games and this one is just seems dull.
Again, familiarity, comfort, being the master of a game.
That makes no sense you not really giving a answer to what it appeal. if saying I have not played enough games. I started playing video games in 1974 to present.

This game is severely lacking something to appeal to a town made for games. I degrees as it seems I can not get the correct message across.
Diehard ffxiv fans seem to believe if you don’t like it, you didn’t give it a chance or that you should “Just go back to WoW”
Like, their game is sacred and you don’t deserve to play/appreciate it if you can’t get over the atrocious pacing.
